When they said reach his ceiling, I guessed they were wondered if he could jump that high. Figured it mattered if they have 8 or ten foot ceilings.

I think guys like Garza topping out is less of an indictment of Garza than the Iowa coaching staff. I would have liked to have seen what Garza could have done with some decent coaching and/or a scheme and shooters that would create some one-on-one match-ups for him on the block because of ball movement and spacing. Alas, not in Iowa City.

I see him as a guy Fred or Prohm would have had some fun with.

That Garza was as good on offense as he was without a shred of decent PG or even guard play around him actually makes the case for the guy stronger.

I am with the rest of you, though -- I would take Lard before him. If Lard plays like "good Lard" every night, then he is competing for Big 12 POTY next season.

He will play as many minutes as he can this year. They need a skill guy opposite of cook.

His ceiling is probably 15 and 7 in that offense. He will give up 25 at the rim with his turnstile defense though, and he will foul a lot because guards will be coming downhill at him and he is not athletic enough to avoid fouling. So it will be hard to play him 30 minutes
