The thread about Trey Griffey made me think about this again. Really strange deal that Gary would say what he did on the radio about Iowa State if there was no truth to it.

Portland State was probably the best school that offered. Washington and Washington State showed interest. He could've been Railey's teammate if he walked on!

But he chose to go JUCO...

In related Iowa news, I had an ex-high school classmate and her husband buy Payton's mansion in Seattle a few years ago.

Not bad for a chick who was well-liked but no dates in high school. she's done very well
