Here's the thing....I don't think inept and ill thought out media releases are part of some nepharious plan. It's just SOP for this AD.
You saying you think he’s just this dumb and moronic? How can someone get to that level and be this inept? Has to be a plan behind it.

If there is something serious....why not wait until you can release more detailed information. This jumping the gun on allegations is pretty standard throughout today's society so I really shouldn't be surprised.
Your AD has a history of rushing press releases without the information. It was intentionally left vague so the public would speculate. It wouldn't surprise me if someone in Barta's regime told ESPN and the AP because usually stuff like this is a non-story I'm the eyes of the national media.

I don’t agree with yelling slurs period, but honestly how easy is this going to be? One trumpet player had one or a couple morons yell a slur at him. It will be nearly impossible to figure out who unless it happened in seats, and then there were several people in the wrong seats. Heck, I had a group of ISU sorority women next to me and after a delay they left and I got a hawk fan. Ironically I now know who he is because he posted in the Kum and go tweet response and I recognized his picture. Decent guy, but I would have rather kept the ladies there. If it was after the delay, they may boot someone who never did anything.
If things were thrown at the band, then this whole ordeal should've been talked about behind closed doors between the two AD's. Jamie Pollard would've came out and addressed the situation and life moves on. If it's something worse than that, then we can all wait until more information comes about.
Either way, Barta is notorious for trying to get his name in the headlines, so I would not be surprised at all if this was something minuscule and he's trying to throw Iowa State's fans under the bus and give us bad publicity. I also wouldn't be surprised if he didn't appreciate our student section booing their band whenever they took the field.

Absolutely agree. Jamie has told Sukup endzone donors that their behavior by the glass windows is unacceptable. That could be good donors.

And, as I posted earlier, this is now public and both fan bases' tribal instincts are up. ISU fans now have an incentive not to report any bad behavior they saw to help their school save face. Iowa fans now have an incentive to exaggerate or even outright invent stories about what happened to help their school save face.
What Barta did was grossly incompetent and intentionally malicious and it shows he places embarrassing ISU above getting at the truth.
