So I sat down with the intention of ripping on him, but decided I haven't seen enough games this year to be fair. So I'll ask a question instead.

Is Garrett as bad as he looked tonight, or did he have an off night. If this were an 8th grade team, I would assume his dad is the coach.:jimlad:

i have a hard time believing dominique buckley is not better then DG right now

This may not be a popular idea around here, but I think if the reigns were loosened a bit on DG he would play much better. I don't think he is the right player for this system, and I think that when he can display a bit of creativity and play within his game he is ok. I would love to see him develop his jumper a bit over the summer, get a little stronger, and take over the 2 spot when Colvin takes over the point. He is not meant to set up an offense and make good decisions, but rather is a slasher, playmaker and hopefully can develop into a shooter.

colvin cant come fast enough

Colvin is NOT, repeat, NOT going to be the cure all for this team. We are hanging all our hopes on a true freshman point guard?! He might start but that doesn't mean he won't get picked clean often.

Can I ask why everyone seems to think he will come in day 1 and be the next Steve Nash? Because some website has him at #92 or whatever? Yeah, because they've NEVER been wrong....:jimlad:

That said, I think DG needs to sit the bench. Seriously, how much worse can Buckley be if he can't even sniff playing time right now?

Is Buckley that bad where he can't start stealing some of his minutes?

I still support DG, but he really needs to be benched for the start of the game saturday. He has hit a run of poor form, and inconsistant and forcing
crap. He needs to pull his head out.

At the very least he should have his "last guy announced during pregame" status revoked.:dull:

I agree. Give DG a GOOOOOOOOD benching. One of two things will happen.

1. He'll pull his head out of his ***, step up, and start playing with some intensity to keep from losing his position

OR

2. DB will seize the opportunity and be the player we all hope he can be.

I know everyone's emotions are high, and I don't like to publicly single out a player like this.

With that said, is there any reason not to bench him? At least for a bit? Maybe let him start, but give some of the other guys his minutes to see what happens. Why not?

Petey is playing a lot better than DG lately. He had zero turnovers tonight. He's not going to do the flashy thing - but how much flash have we seen from DG in the last month? Almost none.

Time to sit, reflect and learn for DG. If he's not, I will put that one on the coaches - period. DG is not performing and really - it's not like Buckley or someone else would do much worse. Give them a damn chance until DG is mentally ready to play ball.

In the last few games, how many minutes has DG actually SAT? Ham took a semi-bad shot and McD yanked him for pretty much the rest of the game. He has a hair trigger for most players, so why not the same for DG?
