Gameday/Game Thread

I'm not sure anyone but the biggest of kool-aid drinkers expected us to compete today. It was interesting to see at the beginning of the season how many people thought this would be a win today.

Yep. Before the season started(when we still had optimism), I thought people were drinking the kool-aid by picking this one as a "likely win".

I can't believe how many people underestimated OSU this year.

If ISU can't stop it than they deserve it. It would be different if OSU was doing this to Drake but ISU is a Big 12 team, even though we may not be better than Drake.

There is something called class, and OSU's coach isn't displaying it today. I normally cheer for all B-12 teams, but I'll be looking forward to the day OSU get's theirs.

Watching certain of the kids play, both stiff and slow, it's obvious which is the correct answer.

No matter what the talent level, it's up to the coaches to get the most out of them. You can not convince me that this coaching staff is getting the most out of these players.

One thing that I have to give major props to ISU on here (I'm an OSU fan) is that our Kick off return coverage has been decimated today. I don't know the stats, but I'm pretty sure today we were among the top in the nation in Kickoff coverage. It seemed like we were always getting the return man behind the 20. We have looked terrible today and I'm sure a lot of that has to do with your blocking and skill for the ball carrier. Plus, your RB is something of a beast. Some good positives for the future.

this is ridiculous. there is no single excuse for us playing this badly. everyone keeps saying how "we're a young team, that's all." I say boloney! (I know, it's really spelled bologna, but why should I spell correctly if we can't play correctly, anyway...) We could be playing all freshman, but for how wide open OSU's recievers have been all game, that's just bad coaching. not necessarily our play calling, but just how our players grasp the fundamentals. Obviously they aren't grasping hardly anything, so the coaches are either teaching them incorrectly (highly unlikely)

stupid computer...had typed more but it must've froze and when it reloaded forgot some of what i had typed. anyway, this was the end of my comment from above: either our coaches are teaching our players incorrectly (highly unlikely) or we need to find a new way to teach these concepts to help them stick in our players' minds. I don't think there was a great chance of us winning this game, but the fact that we've given up 52 points before the end of the 3rd quarter is ridiculous. also, it would be one thing if they had scored all those 52 points on multiple play drives, but most have been done in one or two plays of 50+ yards or close to it. Giving up big plays and getting smoked is one thing, but retaining some dignity while getting smoked but not giving up the big plays is another.

Nothing wrong with continuing to play the game...if the D can't stop them, it's not OSU's fault.

Either our talent is bare bottom or our teachers are not getting through to the kids.

Or there is only so much you can teach, understand, get bigger faster stronger, more physical in 2 months.

How people expect to see changes on a team without getting different players is nuts.

ISU fans are the same EVERY year. They think that kids magically get better because they are 12 months older the next time a season works around (yes, hard work and practice helps). You are only going to get so much better.

It's like our fanbase loves bashing their heads against the door over and over and over and over... worrying about the same things. When all they have to realize is to wait one more year.

Anyway. Ive actually stayed out of this thread since the beginning of the game and Im glad I did. I certainly enjoyed this game a lot more.
