I have a bad feeling about this game that I just can't get past, a weaker opponent would be better out of the gate for the young defense.

Best thing about this game is the 10 day lay off that you get to fix all the things that will show up on the film. Rather than rush into game prep you have time, especially with a young defense, to take the time to get things fixed. I think (besides the difference in opponent) we will be a much better team in week 2

I just don't want to hear about the defense anymore. THIS IS MAC'S 12TH YEAR!!! If we have to rebuild a unit, that is a bad sign.
I think that we will win, but I think that it is more important how we win. If we are supposed to be a player in the Big 12 North, playing a very diffiult schedule, we need to make a statement with this first game. I'm not saying that it will be a blowout, Toledo is a good MAC program. But that is just it, they are a MAC PROGRAM.

13 plays 99 yards, including a 1st and 21, that is VERY weak. Can someone please tell me why everyone on here has such a high opinion of this coaching staff???

I'm sure that I will hear the "look where we were before Mac got here." responses that are standard when you ask the question, What has he done that is so great?
The school has spent money on the program, something that they never did for his predecessors. He has made millions of dollars, when any other school would have fired him after being 6-27 after 3 years, 9-35 after 4 years. and 13-42 after 5 years. Now you can say look what he has done since 2000 39 wins in 6 years, well color me impressed. He has also lost 35 games in that time. I am sure that he will win his 6-7 games thsi year and go to a lower tier bowl, while never winning an important game, because that's what coaches like Mac do. All the while he'll tell us how lucky we are that he has taken us to this brink of mediocrity.
I say that it is time for people who feel passionately about ISU to demand more from this million dollar a year hack
