Just saw this UGA vs Iowa rumor. It’s too bad the big ten already put rules in place to stop this from happening.
The B1G has already shown it's "rules" aren't really "rules"... at least when it pertains to THE Ohio State University.
Big ten changes rules weekly. So, who knows what the big ten would have said.
Yeah, it would be patently unfair to Iowa to have only a few days to prepare for a game when Georgia had been preparing for Iowa for weeks.
Dang so another week of prep they would have beaten Stanford in the Rose Bowl. It all makes sense
It would be a chance for Iowa to win a game against a team with more than 2 wins on the season.
In all seriousness, if Kirk had said something like.... he is disappointed that the MI game was cancelled. But in the best interest of the student athletes, after playing 8 consecutive weeks, it may be better to allow the players to rest and heal up to compete in the upcoming bowl game in what has been a challenging year. I would say that sounds reasonable. To say I don't have time to prepare since we were preparing for Michigan and not Georgia sounds like chickenshit. Just Sayin'!
Iowa State seemed to have actually put some thought into how to effectively meet the needs of the students while protecting both the students and the communities they hail from. Starting early...finishing early, and no breaks during the semester. I know my son had classes on Labor Day and even a final on the Sunday before Thanksgiving. He did not return home at all during the semester.
Iowa, just said we'll just bring all these students in and make them take classes online....what could go wrong?
The only way they beat Stanford would have been locking Stanford in the locker room before the game started. At half time it would have been too late.
