The PK80 event in 2017 was a two-bracket, 16-team mega-tourney with the blue bloods.

The PK Invitational in 2019 was Oregon vs Memphis and Oregon State vs Oklahoma.

thinking the event ISU is slated to be in will be PK85? It’s celebrating Phil Knights birthday

I also saw Alabama is one of the teams. Kansas was also reportedly in but that doesn’t seem possible now.

You should contact Pollard and say their tourney scheduling isn't meshing well with your vacation trips.

Yeah, it's called playing Chaminade. Maui is usually thought of as the best pre-season tourney so I just thought it was weird we get an invite now when we've witnessed a horrible stretch.

Maui wanted to find someone worse, so they picked us

If I remember correctly we got Maui the first time because of the 5 straight NCAA tourneys we had been to with Fred and Prohm. Its usually a pretty exclusive invite so I just thought the timing was weird.

I think the organizers also see how well we travel...everywhere

Portland local here. The PK Nike event will be top-notch if its anything like the last two they've held. The Moda Center is an awesome venue (Trailblazers Arena) and the city of Portland is a great/affordable trip especially if you're into craft beer, wine and gourmet donuts.

I forgot that Maui does the field 3 seasons ahead. I think a majority of early-season events are maybe the fall prior. (Or in that range). (I'm going by memory)

Iowa State sold the most packages of any team ever in the Maui Invitational the word even before the tourney was over was ISU would be back as soon as the were able. 2024 is that 5 year window. Fans can get teams places. Our got us back to Maui apparently. Maui was awesome, great run tourney, great feel in the high school gym. Great mingling with players and fans. I saw Mark Few jump of Black Rock after he bet his team he would if they won, he paid up. Was an awesome time, I would go again in a heartbeat if able to.

Yep! Should be a fun trip. I had a blast when Iowa State played @ Oregon State in 2019.
