This is the only brand liquid smoke I buy. No others come close. Can't get in Florida. Used to get it all the time at HyVee. Now they don't seem to carry it anymore so I get it at Fareway.

Mail order brides. Know a guy who got one out of the budget bin it seems. She was unattractive and mean. You get what you pay for.
Add lawnmower to this. Finally got a John Deere about 1998. Game changer. Went from a Cub Cadet that I always thought was very good but it was night and day.
1). Dress shoes - if you’re willing to spend 400+ on a good pair of dress shoes they w last forever if you take proper care of them (polishing, conditioning, shoe trees, resoling when needed). It’s actually much more cost effective than buying cheaper ones over the long haul.
2) Tailored suits/dress shirts - do not need to be the most expensive, but spend a little extra money to have tailored. Even if you can afford an expensive suit, they look so much better if you have them tailored appropriately.

I once wound up in a kitchen supply store of some sort with a group that included a general surgeon. Watching him test a knife by cutting a raw potato into super-thin, even slices… it confirmed to me that we were both in the correct lines of work (surgery and not-surgery).
He bought the knife. I did not go to med school.

No variation on laundry detergent, must get Cheer. Tide gives me hives. So do a lot of the cheaper kinds. Sometimes I feel like I am allergic to everything. Guessing it is whatever they use to give it scent, like my soap bomb issue. I get the unscented dryer sheets too.
My dumbass evil MIL knew we always brought our own bedding when we came to visit, and so before we came, she said not to bother, she would wash stuff in Cheer. I got violently ill both with hives and wheezing and a full blown asthmatic attack and since we weren’t sure of the trigger, husband was getting me in to see a doctor friend from high school before she finally confessed that she lied. How could I possibly be allergic to Tide and not Cheer? So she had done an experiment with my health.
We have either stayed at his sister’s house or a hotel every time since then. And the mess is in Canada and I don’t think he knows my passport has expired yet.

I go cheap AF on hotels if I don't have my wife along with. Drug deal next door? Hookers in the parking lot? Don't give a single **** if I'm paying $50/night.

The last few weddings my sons have been in, they have gotten suits instead of renting tuxes due to costs. Unfortunately they are usually cheap Men’s Wearhouse suits that don’t show up in time for proper tailoring or are sent directly to where the wedding is without tailoring.
Toilet paper. Every once in a while if the wife does the shopping she's get the cheap Wal Mart brand. I'm all for paying more for the good stuff.
This is kind of off topic, but running the heat/cold in our house is one for me. I could probably be more efficient or try to tough it out, but I'm not going to sit in my own home and be uncomfortable.

Had to switch from Claussen to Grillo's when COVID hit and couldn't find them in the shelves. They're good, though I still prefer Claussen's if it can find them.
Wow, that is a horrible human being! We aren’t as allergic - we have to use the Tide white container (the hypoallergenic one) or I get hives, but nowhere near as serious as what you experience. Who would play with that?!
Clothing. If I find a brand that is comfy I'll continue to go to them despite price. Recent examples: Faherty, Outerknown, Fjallraven, Du/er.
MILs. Now, look at your kids and realize what you will become when they get married. It's a weird transformation. Probably since wives have already beaten all existence out of their husbands and now have someone new to terrorize.
