How do you tell an experienced T Ball coach from a new one? The experienced one holds the bat while they put the ball on the T.I coach my son's 4th grade basketball team, and the absolute, unequivocal answer to this question is "yes".
Changing a tire on the interstate can be pretty nerve wracking.I helped a lady change her tire on the interstate and, despite there being an open lane next to him, a car driving by didn't change lanes as he went by. He maybe missed me by a foot at the most.
My neighbor is a good dude. A couple years ago, he came over with his snow blower while I was at work and cleared my driveway. He ended up running over an extension cord and some Christmas lights that had pulled loose around the base of my garage door. Fortunately it didn't do anything to his snow blower. I don't think he even knew it happened. We recently had a snow storm of over 16 inches over three days I was out snowblowing my driveway and my neighbor insists on parking his car in the street during a big storm so his car got completely surrounded with snow since the plow came through. So of course he was out there shoveling it out while I was finishing my driveway and I didn’t want to be a jerk and just go in the house so I started helping him with my blower. I was going along near his car then all of a sudden there’s a loud clunk sound and the engine died. It would not restart again. I looked at the auger back in my driveway and it was all wound up with a jump rope. I untangled that and try to start it and it still would not start so I went back into the house since another neighbor was helping him dig and I was very mad. I know the rope was theirs since they have kids there and the yard is always strewn with crap. The next morning the blower started but it died again soon as I engaged the auger, so I went back online and it said, as it did yesterday, to check for stale gas or a jammed auger shoot, but I just had the blower tuned up in the fall with fresh gas so I knew that wasnt it. I then put the thing on two wheels and sure enough out of sight was the jump rope handle all jammed up where I could not get it out without using a handsaw to chop half of it off and then I finally wiggled it out. I was sure stressed about a big repair/ pickup/ delivery bill. I also strained my back when I had to clear the bottom of the driveway with a shovel after phase 2 of the storm. Him parking in the street caused more snow on my driveway bottom then normal
Loan a friend money sometime. They will never be your friend the same way again if they don't pay you back. In fact they will avoid you at all costs. Just tell them you don't have the money. It will save the relationship

Youth sports are the worst at younger ages isn't it? Takes someone with the patience and skills to deal with that so appreciate everyone who does volunteer to do it. We seem to have the worst luck that our kids always seem to get stuck on the teams that no parents want to step up and be the coach so it's like a game of chicken to see who will finally cave in and be the coach. My wife has done more than her fair share, this past year she was the soccer coach for both our girls, t-ball coach for 1 and assistant softball coach for the other, got talked into co-coaching volleyball and finally said no when we signed both up for basketball as she was ready for a break. She is only going to coach 1 of the girls soccer teams this year because we had too many games start to overlap this fall and ironically our older daughter's team has always had different assistant coaches that were into soccer more than my wife is and did more of the actual coaching than she did so figure it's time one of them finally just take it on as the head coach. It's a thankless job because feels like once you become that parent that is willing to coach the other parents are probably thinking "oh thank goodness it's not my problem!" Sounds bad to say but when you have multiple kids doing more than 1 sport at a time between all the practices and games you have to take them too adding the coaching responsibilities and time commitments that takes on can get hectic quickly.I coach my son's 4th grade basketball team, and the absolute, unequivocal answer to this question is "yes".
