Friday OT #3 - Top 5 TV Shows

So we now have three Friday OT threads going today...sorry I couldn't help myself. Binge watching Sons of Anarchy lately got me wondering what some of the favorite shows are per a middle school top 5. Here's mine:

1.) Breaking Bad
2.) Trailer Park Boys
3.) House of Cards
4.) Sons of Anarchy
5.) Spartacus

Hmm. This is hard.

1) Arrested Development
2) Breaking Bad
3) Twin Peaks before the cluster**** that was the last episode
4) Game of Thrones
5) Louie, maybe? Once upon a time I would have said The Cosby Show.
 
Of completed shows:

1.) Breaking Bad
2.) Survivor (maybe I'm weird)
3.) The Wire
4.) House of Cards
5.) Louie

HM: Better Call Saul (too early to tell, but looking real good)
 
Ok this will be an odd mix for most of you. Haven't seen but the first couple episodes of Breaking Bad but mean to soon.

1.) Farscape
2.) Weeds
3.) Simpsons - its been on since I was a kid
4.) SG1
5.) South Park
 
For me, I need to break it into comedy and non comedy...because its two different states of mind:

Comedy:

1. The Office
2. How I Met your Mother
3. Seinfeld
4. Big Bang Theory
5. Home Improvement

Non comedy:

1. LOST
2. Big brother
3. Survivor
4. Castle
5. Pawn Stars
 
no particular order

Archer
Arrested Development
Venture Brothers
Futurama

several tied for #5

Waaaaaaaaay too many good shows to be able to condense it down into 5. In no particular order some of my favorites.

I knew I was forgetting a show!

I keep seeing Arrested Development. Someone wanna give me a short synopsis on that and the allure of the show?

very difficult to do. Quite simply, it's one of the cleverest shows ever to be aired. Jokes upon jokes upon jokes, layered into each episode. Some very blatant humor. Some incredibly subtle. Tons of call backs and foreshadowing. Requires multiple viewings to catch everything. Incredible cast. Brilliantly written. There's something there for almost everyone, even the most selfish country music loving ladies.

Nice to see OP put Spartacus in there. That was fantastically done. Unfortunately, when Andy Whitfeild passed, it wasn't nearly as good. Still well put together, but they couldn't find a better lead than him.

I haven't watched a lot of the big ones everyone talks about (i.e. Breaking Bad, Arrested Developement), so for me:

Seinfeld
Spartacus
Archer
Cheers

Hard to say on the 5th. I did like Nip/Tuck...first few season anyway. Still remember the pilot being a "whoa" moment.
