@Mr Janny and I are going to Portland next week, and we are both excited to get some Vietnamese wings at Pok Pok. That magic looks like this:

Have you encountered any "holy crap, I wish I lived there so I could have this food every day" meals while traveling? What are they, and where?

B&B in Glencoe, Scotland for the full Scottish breakfasts plus the langoustines at Lochleven Seafood Cafe.

Where I'm at now isn't too bad for a cheese curd and ice cream aficionado

Any restaurant near Puget Sound for fresh halibut. Expensive, yes - but damn well worth it!

Also the magnificent breakfasts at Yolk (restaurant in Lincoln Park, IL). Would make any Sunday morning a holiday.

NYC - Malatesta Trattoria in West Village. Their Spinach Gnocci is spectacular. Just make sure you bring cash as it's a cash only place.

I have never lived somewhere that has Korean BBQ but apparently it is amazing and I want to try it.

I had it last year in New Jersey. Imagine a Japanese hibachi mixed with an American picnic (the cold side salads). It was quite good. Just wish the chopsticks were a bit bigger because my sausage fingers had issues with the extremely narrow ones.

We've talked about your Portland visit before but are you in the city the whole time?
Remember Kens Artisan Bakery
I love, love the town of Hood River.

This is our second time this year, just because we love it! I've got Ken's written down on my itinerary for sure! We're trying to see if we can get away for a while one day - we have tickets to the Trailblazers game next Friday night, so that limits our availability to leave town that day, but we have vouchers for a future trip somewhere... so I wouldn't be surprised if we make it back soon!

nothing like fresh lobster or clams in New England right out of the water. Our favorite is the clam shack in Kennebunk, Maine

We have! We went to the old-school downtown one and waited in line. It was really good - but TBH, I preferred Blue Star Donuts. The Voodoo ones are more fun (I couldn't get Janny to eat a weiner-shaped one), but the Blue Star ones have better flavors.

Osceola, WI : The Watershed Cafe, P Y's Bar (Best prime rib sandwich and fresh cut fries and can't forget Spotted Cow on tap).
