There's been something going around CF lately. A pack of high horses has invaded or something. I plan on drinking a flask of my #1 shipmate: Sailor Jerry as I enjoy the festivities tonight. Judge me all you want, the Sailor and I are tight.

I'm not judging anyone. I came from an alcoholic father and married and divorced an alcoholic woman. I've seen what alcohol can do to a family. Sorry if I'm just a little sensitive on the issue of abusive drinking.

I would think drinking 2 days a week (aka weekend) is not an alcoholic, but I guess I cant be for sure, do they explain these things at the "meetings". "Is it true that it you dont use it you lose it?

There is a time and a place, this weekend both the time and place are at my house. I'm sorry about your situation but don't assume that there are any similarities, oh wait you already did. I think you should kindly exit the friday beer thread.

ah snap you read my mind. Lost post was just trollin, but Sailor's does sound pretty good. I'll pick that up on my way out tonight.
 
Okay, back to more cheerful banter.

I'll be leaving for the store within an hour or two and would like suggestions on what to pick up. I'll be buying a case of beer and a 6-pack of something a bit nicer.

If you like Boulevard Wheat I would not suggest the new Madhouse from Newton. It tastes like Boulevard's weaker sister. I would reccommend Boulevard Boss Tom's Bock. It is very smooth for a Bock.

Don't assume there are any similarities? Why do you think I posted in the first place? These posts are teeming with similarities. I suggest that you should go get drunk if you can't handle the discussion while sober.
 
On a brighter note, I love this weekly thread. It gives me ideas of new beers to try. I'm not one for the same thing over and over. I love micro brews because none of them are exaclty alike. How many on here actually home brew?

I've always considered it but never really taken the plunge. How long till your good enough at it that the beer is good and how much does a begginers kit cost?

God I hope I'm not offending anyone who thinks that brewing your own is a sign that I'm a alchoholic that is to lazy to drive to the store and pick some up :jimlad:

I'll probably have just one tonight with supper - either Spotted Cow or LH 400-lb Monkey. I have to watch my girlish figure. (why does beer have to have so many calories? Boo.)

The husband and I are going to Beerfest at Benz in CR tomorrow. That should be a good time.

Look Nancy, I have beers at home from time to time. I don't drink and drive, beat up my wife or engage in any other alcohol related offenses. I understand that your life has been impacted by alcoholism, mine hasn't, again I'm sorry. Don't go analyzing me or anyone else it is a waste of your time. I can assure you when the weekend is over, I won't need 12 steps, just a nap.
