****Friday Beer Thread**** 8/17/2012

^^^^^^Mr. T: Why thank you...thank you verr much as Elvis would say.

Nothing special going on for the weekend, or there'd be a 750 of New Glarus Raspberry Belgian in there aside of it, possibly some homebrew wine.

These days, my only chance of getting Two Women Totally Naked is to drive to Wisconsin and pay for it.

*Edit: And my neighbor isn't home, or I'm sure there'd probably be a growler of his group's homebrew, and possibly some Surly tallboys straight from Minneapolis.

<<<<<<<<<<<< Best beer i have ever had!
Rye on Rye is very good, but not going to say its the best in the world. I was definitely pleasantly surprised by it when I picked up a bottle. Really can't go wrong with the Smokestack series.

I picked up a 6 pack of Spaten Oktoberfest. I typically prefer funk, sours, and/or hops, but I really like the Spaten version of the Oktoberfest. Weird drinking it out of 12 oz bottles though. Would much prefer to be drinking from liter steins at a biergarten while watchin soccer.

Yea i may have over reacted... Its one of my favorites.. Right up there with Gulden Draak and Rochefort Trappist!

Going to New Glarus next friday... Brother in law flying in to MKE so I'm meeting him there. Looking forward to it.

Enjoy! Very nice facility for a local brewery. Pro-tip: Beer's actually more expensive at the brewery than local shops, they want to reward the places that carry their wares by not undercutting them. I bought it there anyway due to the ability to get a large quantity/variety quickly (stopped in on our way back from Madison one weekend).

Just stopped at hyvee for some Baraboo Wheat, New Belgium Shift, and Samual Adams Harvest Pumpkin. I don't think I've ever had a beer with pumpkin, but SA usually does a good job with that kind of thing.

I'm heading to Eddie's Ale House in Sun Prairie, WI this afternoon. They have 145 different beers there. Not sure what I'm going to try today. Anyone in the Madison area that hasn't been there and likes beer, it's worth stopping by. Kinda of a small place but... 145 different beers... :spinny:
