I know it sounds stupid, but for the parents and kids, it's fun to do. My kid's team did it around that age when one of the parents volunteered to use her bluetooth speaker and phone for it. The kids ate it up.

Im giving off "old man yells at cloud" energy here but this is ridiculous.

maybe kids should worry less about their music and more about the mechanics of actually hitting a baseball?

Anyone ever seen the TV show ""Impractical Jokers"? It's hilarious.
They have a scene where one of the guys has to attend a little league girls softball game, and be a really obnoxious parent. It was awesome.

I feel like this isn’t mutually exclusive. Games at that age should really be about having fun and learning the basics. Having a walk out song is fun and doesn’t really detract from learning the basics

I fully agree you need to keep it fun for the kids while teaching them the basics, but be prepared to spend money when they get older because this also plays into the look good play good attitude that is also prevalent now where they need the arm/leg sleeves/bands, visors, etc. so they look good.

Last couple years of USSSA baseball my son used the start of Girls, Girls, Girls by Motley Crue. I would use the chorus of Detroit Rock City.

I’ve been coaching my sons 8u team this year and have done a 180 on this. If you would have asked me before the season what I thought about walk up songs, I would have said it ******* ridiculous. Now, this is where I am at. God, who cares. They are 8. Let them have some fun. Maybe for older boys it’s unnecessary but I could care less if we did this for our games as long as I’m not in charge of it and have one more thing to deal with.

I’ve found this to be mostly true but some times they do surprise you with variety.

Side story, we were playing in a tourney and on a neighboring field a team was doing walk up songs with a small blue toothed speaker. One song came on between innings that, lyrically, clearly was not meant to be played but the mom couldn’t figure out how to stop it right away. I have no clue what the song was or the artist but My 8u boys heard the terms “work yo ass” and “sexy time” and lost their minds. I couldn’t get them focused back on track for the next inning and half. It was hilariously frustrating.

This would be my attitude if I still had kids at the coaching age.

This being said, it's scary how easily distracted they are. I never did it but other coaches outlawed sunflower seeds on the bench. I was quite amazed how many times kids were late running onto the field because grabbing a handful of sunflower seeds was really important.

A friend of mine asked a group of friends last night for suggestions for baseball walk-up music for her third grader. It was a fun exercise, trying to find something clean or edited enough for kids, but that gets a crowd hyped.

What would be your anthem?
