Rumor has it Fresno State is cutting the program. Sad to hear, but when Stanford announced they were cutting, one would guess more were to come. On another note that I've already mentioned in this forum...….get Joe Colon on the horn!

I’d love to have Colon in Ames, but this is a damn shame if Fresno is being cut. They were really on the way to becoming a very solid program.

What sucks is that there definitely be more than will go down as Athletic Departments deal with all this.

Losing Fresno drops the Big 12 back to 11.

Losing Stanford drops the Pac-12 back to 5. The P-12 will have to get a waiver from the NCAA (like the Big 12 did for so many years) to have their conference meet be a national qualifier.

Cal Baptist is in the midst of reclassifying to D-I, and I don't think they've announced a conference affiliation yet.

Depending on how everything ends up shaking out, we could be on a path to have a merged Big 12/Pac-12 qualifier with 16-17 teams. That would be in the same neighborhood as the B1G (14), MAC (14), and EIWA (17). Persuade the ACC and SoCon to join up, and that'd be a 15-team event -- which would effectively make 5 regional qualifying events.

Man, that sucks. They just got that program back up and running in 2016 after it was dropped back in 2005 or something like that. I definitely feel for Coach Steiner and Co. Tough times.

What do you guys (and gals) know about Haiden Drury? It sounds like he has been moving up the rankings at 133 as a freshman. Any interest in being a landing spot for Mr. Drury when the vultures are picking over the bones of the Fresno State program?

I have no idea what ISU has at 133 or has coming in.

Don't know much about him, but I will say that we have a true freshman at 133 right now and it sounds like the coaches really like him. We also have the #6 126 pounder coming in next year and the #4 132 pounder coming in the year after.

I'd say it's unlikely, but I'll also say I don't know anything more than what's available on the internet.
