Fred's next move?

Probably to his new house in Chicago or Tuscaloosa.

I did a flighttracker on a private jet out of DSM to Tuscaloosa today with only 2 passengers on it. I then scoured the Tuscaloosa county treasurer website and found that an offer was made on a house listed for sale at 1.4 million by a "Ted Moiberg"....Hmmmmm.....

Needs to be looking at 16-17 lineup. Naing, McKay and possibly Morris gone. Big shoes to fill.

I agree, with 5 scholarships available (Bryce,Houge,Endozie, Sherron,Custer) all gone we should be trying to reload with some high school recruits and some senior college transfers who can play now. Red shirt the freshmen keep them as a nucleus of 4 year players like George and Naz to build around for the future. Continue to keep the program vitalized with senior or transfer players who like Abdel, Jameel,Burton,Cooke, are proven Big 12 talent. Keep Cyclone Nation going.

If you're released from your LOI from the school before the year starts, it's as if you never signed it. There's no penalty. I'll try to find a reference.

[Edit] Here we go: "Noskowiak can sign with any other school and play next year, but Big East rules prevent him from signing with any other team in the conference."

gotcha. thanks for clarifying. At any rate, is there even any evidence that we're looking his way? I was just spitballing based on our past contact with him. Perhaps that ship has long since sailed.

Not that I know of, with Custer gone that might change but I'd be surprised to be honest with you

I feel like we'd be exchanging Custer for a Custer clone.

Is that necessarily a bad thing, though? We're looking for a guy to replace Monte in a year or maybe two.

Agree with this. The other schools he is now interested in are in much more desperate situations (Illinois, California, USC) than we would be. Hard to think you would bring a guy in that may be battling some serious issues to be your backup PG during what you hope is your best opportunity.

Based on what I've seen, I would really be surprised we are looking at him. Would not be completely surprised if he went away to some smaller place to get away for a year or two.

The one thing we havent seen from a Hoiberg team that I think would be unbelievable is a big guy like 6'10 or so that is able to hit 3's at a good rate (think Justin Hamilton). Someone that could hold their ground in the post on both sides with that ability would be an amazing fit.

Yeah, I wonder why we don't have a few 6'10"+ guys who can score and defend down low, but also can step out and hit the three. Someone needs to tell Fred about these guys.

There are so many of them that it's probably hard for Fred to decide which ones he wants so he doesn't pick any.

Ya all we need is an equivalent to Frank Kaminsky in the transfer market that can also be the college player of the year. Those aren't to hard to find.
