I think Morris can have a good NBA career, but his chances of that are MUCH higher if a team has to commit to him as a 1st round pick. He just might not ever get a **** otherwise.

Defense is his biggest limitation

Yup. His biggest question mark isn't his size or his shot but his defense. He hasn't shown he can guard quicker PG's yet.

Monte knows like a cat the six or seven ways to run pick and roll. Big plus.

Needs to learn how to guard a pick and roll, however.

He's still young for his class too I believe. Would be great if he spent the off-season working his body like MT has done. 5-10 pounds of muscle would make him a force and set himself up better for the next level.

I still have a hard time projecting him to the pros but there are many other anonymous amateur talent scouts on here to set me straight.

Morris is the opposite of Murray. He's so steady that he's easy to forget. With a fantastic 7-1 assist-to-turnover ratio, he might be the best floor leader in the draft.
His lack of elite athleticism is a concern, but as a backup point guard, Morris could be a real steal for an NBA team.

Like Hield, Uthoff is a senior having a breakout season. The numbers Uthoff is putting up are pretty crazy -- 19 PPG, 45 percent shooting from 3-point range and 2.9 blocks per game, nearly unheard of for a small forward.
His ability to close out on shooters is remarkable. He leads the NCAA in blocking 3-point shots. As more and more scouts warm to him, he is a big tournament away from moving even higher on the board.

He can at least be a back up PG because he can run pick and roll and he does not turn the ball over. There is value in that especially to good teams picking late in first round

Stats don't tell the whole story. Rondo is quite a bit craftier and a much better defender.

Monte is an incredibly unique talent taking care of the ball and orchestrating an offense, most drafts do not have any players at his level in that area. He's a guy I could see playing a key role for NBA teams for many years...but at the same time he doesn't have the jump off the page measurables typically required to be a top 20 pick.

The NBA is so much about potential its always hard to predict a players positioning in the draft. I've seen enough mock drafts that have him in the mid--upper area of the second round - those are non-guaranteed contracts.

Monte should also consider that next year with the returning team - he would be more of an offensive focus with the departures we have with this team. He would be the alpha and the team will still be very talented with Burton Naz and Thomas returning.

Either way, as a past point guard, watching Monte play the game has been so enjoyable to watch, i wish him nothing but the best stay or go!!!!
