Do you ever notice anyone who isn't a complete ISU homer is considered a Hawkeye to people on this board?
I get the impression that Murphy is one of those fans that doesnt really have a side between ISU\Iowa, but just pulls for both to do well.

Curt worked at WOI TV in 1988 for a moment as well. Went by Curtis Menefee at that time on air.My google search tells me that Curt Menefee worked as the sports reporter for KCRG in Cedar Rapids for a handful of years.
He's currently the host of FOX NFL Sunday.
That would at least be a more legitimate gripe.
And I feel like that's more tongue-in-cheek, but who knows. I don't know if I ever saw it.
This is true. However, Fales and Sears are both Hok lovers and can both EABODDo you ever notice anyone who isn't a complete ISU homer is considered a Hawkeye to people on this board?

Yeah I’ve seen him and his now wife over the last 5-6 years at Iowa state games all the time. They are in the sukup end zone .If anything Murphy is a closet ISU fan. He called ISU games for years and I think his wife is an ISU grad. Don't they have season football tickets?
By all means, keep up with your crazy rants. No one can deprive you of that.So maybe you shouldn’t try and tell me how I should feel about it?
My memory is fading but wasn't he also the host of Johnny Orrs weekly TV show back in the early 90s?Yeah I’ve seen him and his now wife over the last 5-6 years at Iowa state games all the time. They are in the sukup end zone .
Wow great memory he sure did. And for some reason I remember Johnny’s at the old hotel there on duff and trying to have a restaurant back then but I don’t remember it being all that great. Did they maybe do some of the shows there …? Why is that popping up in my head ?My memory is fading but wasn't he also the host of Johnny Orrs weekly TV show back in the early 90s?
It may be time to let this one go (I don't know what the other reference is). Didn't this happen basically a decade ago?
He did the Tim Floyd show also.My memory is fading but wasn't he also the host of Johnny Orrs weekly TV show back in the early 90s?
There are a lot of sensitive Clone fans. Maybe the OP is on to something as to why they are "former" local celebrities. Who would want to put up with this whiney @** fanbase?

The conversation sure has turned from former to current lately so let's get back on track. Really don't care what people think of Keith Murphy, Andy Fales, etc. who are still in this market. The intent I had with this thread was to find out what former local media or popular personalities of the past are up to these days that are no longer in the Des Moines/Central Iowa market.

I went to the first Grandview football game in school history back in 2008 I think. Andy Fales had some huge thing where he was brought in on Chopper 13 and landed on the 50 yard line, got out and waved to the crowd like he's some huge celebrity. I literally heard "Who the hell is this guy?" from 90% of people in the stands.I'll take the other side of that, never forget and never forgive, he is always condescending and smarmy whenever he does a piece on the Cyclones. He should have been fired when he did it. Murphy is the only semi-decent one on 13 sports.
Here's what I posted back in one of the other TMR threads. Think Sean needs to get out of that show
I can understand why he does it. By now being a dope is his shtick and he just runs with it.
