Football Tryouts

I tried out, my 40 opened there eyesreal wide.... 1:30 40 with a beer in my hand was impressive since

Good time! I was double fisting and barely made it under 5, granted it was after FAC so they gave me credit for that I was deducted for a slight spill halfway through:biglaugh:

And that was it? No hitting, tackling or drills? I hope that wasn't all you had to do to make the team as that provides little evidence of one's ability to play football.

Yes that is all we had to do. But before we were even invited to walkon the coaches evaluated us via our high school tapes.

I agree, back when I was a freshman I would have had a good chance at running the 10 100s, but I couldn't play FB from any position at 125 pounds.

Walk on tryouts for baseball were pretty short and sweet. The only ones that really had a chance were pitchers and catchers. A pitcher had to hit 85 or be lefthanded and hit 80ish and a catcher basically had to be able to catch the ball to be a bullpen catcher...

I was one of those bullpen catchers that walked on... for an NAIA team. All I had to do show the ability to sit on a milk crate and operate the washing machine for the uniforms.
