Football Targets

Angel Dominguez tore his knee at the beginning of his senior year. The staff could ask that he greyshirt if he isn't ready to practice by August. Conversely, they could want him on campus ASAP to rehab the knee

225 definitely is small. But for the "LEO" position I don't think 245-255 is out of the question for him.

A look at the current DE commits shows that 225 isn't insanely small given he's 6'4.

Deven Lamp 6'4 225
John Nagel 6'6 230
Cordarrius Bailey 6'4 210
Angel Dominguez 6'3 250
Dan Sichterman 6'3 235
I know Nagel was listed as a DE, but I thought they were talking about him playing TE. Bailey is up to 235 and he is crazy quick. The 2 DEs from last year will probably go into the season next year at 270 and 280. JD is one of the smaller guys and he is 255 with a year to grow. Bailey is the kind of guy I could see playing at 245 or 250 because he has elite speed on the edge...not lamp.

Lamp does have the frame so maybe he can pack on a lot of weight, only time will tell.

I had wondered that as well. I have always kind of pictured him moving to the inside. With the knee injury maybe that ends up happening.

I was just about to point this out. I think this staff prefers to have a short, stocky & powerful nose guard, one true DT, one power/strong DE, & a rush end/linebacker hybrid (Leo) as their front four. I think of it as a 3-3-5 arrangement where one of the linebackers is always at the line of scrimmage.

I'm not saying you can't be good if you are undersized...just that he would need to make up for it with speed and quickness and in his film he doesn't show that. That is why I am saying he would need to get bigger...I think CB has a chance to be a special DE at 250 LBs

The staff is doing a good job of setting up great additions a for next year's team to succeed especially in trenches.

Thayer Munford now lists MN as warm.
Jordan Mason committed to GT.
Zamari Maxwell replaced UCF with Illinois for warm.
Kyle Bolden now warm to Ohio.
Christian Bricker will visit 1/27.
Tyree Gillespie has added ISU and Indiana as warm.
Latavious Brini has added USF as warm, ISU a long shot.
