Oh by the way, the other day while I was at Granite City (GC) Restaurant in Cedar Rapids I realized one thing. GC could stand for

Great Coach,
Good Coach,
Gameday Coach,
or simply a
Great Cyclone

I don't know, I guess I am just excited about this season.

Speaking of board/bored, does anybody remember seeing a Conan clip from many years ago with Norm MacDonald and Courtney Thorne-Smith as guests. Courtney was talking about some (rather silly) movie she was making with Carrot Top called "Chairman of the Board", about a surfer who takes over a company, and NMD just went off on the movie. At the end of his rant, he made some comment like, "The title of the movie is 'Chairman of the Board', but 'Board' is spelled B-O-R-E-D". I was ROTFL.

The clip used to be up on YouTube, but the NBC/Universal police are pretty uptight about any Conan content being put up on YouTube.

Upon further reflection, I think Courtney was giving the premise of this new B-movie she was working on, and Norm goes off on just about everything she says (particulalry about Carrot Top). She's obviously getting frustrated. Conan asks her what the title of the move will be, and she says "Chairman of the Board". Conan says to NMD something like, "Can you do anything with that?", Right on cue, NMD says something like, "Yeah, 'board' is spelled B-O-R-E-D". Conan and Richter lose it. Perfect line and perfect timing...

Didn't you read the TOS for this site? I understand what your getting at. I'm not fond of the grammar and spelling police either. But when you can't spell your own head coaches name correctly you look dumb and it makes the rest of the fan base look the same.

Actually holding on to a football coach who was 30 games under .500, and pissing and moaning when he was let go, already damages the credibility of the fanbase.

Agree. This message board seems to evolve into a bunch of teachers correcting their student's papers. This is intended to be a message board for an exchange of ideas not a classroom.

Fricken A! I come to this thread to read about Chizik and have to read through 30 some-odd posts on spelling and punctuation on a DAMN INTERNET MESSAGE BOARD!!! Lay off the guy and tell me about Chizik.
