I've lived in the DM area for about 15 years and have been to about every good restaurant. For some reason we had never been to the Flying Mango until last weekend.

DAMN!!!:arghh::arghh::arghh::arghh:

They have some great food and a nice selection of beer.

Thought I would share. Make sure you get reservations.

Dang, I'm gonna have to go try it. I had it via catering at a friend's rehearsal dinner and was unimpressed. I'm sure the stuff at the restaurant is way better.

Their Bloody Mary is like a meal. Outstanding.

My favorite restaurant in town! Blackened catfish is the best I've
ever had! Same goes for the brisket and corn bread. The big chop and coyote chop are also great and my wife loves the Jenny salad. To be honest the ribs have been hit or miss for me. This is where I take my friends when they visit from out of town and all have had a great time. Tough to find tho in the mythical land of Beaverdale.

I had the ribs and there is more meat on the ribs than you would ever expect. Half rack is plenty, and I can put it away.

I love Flying Mango. It is my favorite restaurant in town. I get the corn bread with my meal every time I eat there. My personal favorite is the Chicken from the Other Side. My second favorite restaurant in town is the original Gino's over on 6th in Des Moines. Most people don't venture over there though, which is unfortunate. Fantastic food.

Not a huge fan of Flying Mango. Maybe I didn't order the right thing. Been there twice. Did not like their ribs. Mine were blackened and really dry and tough.

I agree about the ribs. The first time I had them, they were incredible. Next time, they were wayyyy too rubbed. The season overpowered.
