Thinking about taking up the carpet in our main living area and replacing with luxury vinyl plank flooring. Wondering if any of you have had experience with it - bought it, installed it, lived on it, etc. Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated. TIA

Put in two years ago in half our house, dining, kitchen, laundry. Getting living rooms and bedrooms done next month.....will be carpet. Will need area rugs and other things if you want to sit around in socks or bare feet.

We put it in our kitchen. First time didn't work since we used a foam underlayment recommended by the manufacturer. The foam was too soft and caused the planks to separate. Redid it without the underlayment and it's been fine.

It's an inexpensive solution as we're looking to move in the next couple years. I think we'd still look at tile or wood for a long term house.

Had it installed in my kitchen, dining room, half flight of stairs, and downstairs living room. Got the Coretech product from Flooring America. Their install cost is 2.50/sf. That doesn't include trim work (base boards and quarter round). You'll need to consider if you going to update baseboards as well. No issuses and no regrets with selection and having it installed.
