First Concert?

I was there, too. That was actually when Maladroit came out - so Dope Nose was the big hit at the time.

My first ever concert was when I was in grade school, bio dad took me to Bon Jovi/Cinderella at the Iowa Jam. That was an interesting parenting decision on his part, and Cinderella were way better performers than Bon Jovi.

Hmm, best concerts:

- Bob Dylan
- Rilo Kiley at First Ave
- System of a Down, met them and a bunch of other artists in Wisconsin when working for a music store

I can honestly say Rilo Kiley was the worst live band I have ever heard. I saw them open for Coldplay in Kansas City and my God they were terrible.

Not sure on my first, as we had a yearly 4th of July festival in my hometown that drew classic rock bands as well as new country bands.

Best: Eric Clapton at The Mark
Close 2nd: The Eagles at The Mark
Tie for Close 2nd: Peter Frampton, outdoor concert at Riverboat Days

Jason Boland always gives a good show, and Reckless Kelly is pretty good live as well.

This.

Boland is in Hartford on March 1st. Can't remember the name of the place, but it is Hartford, so I am sure it is the only place.

If they were opening for Coldplay, I'm going to guess it was a pretty big venue? Definitely not their thing - small venues like First Ave are much more intimate, better fit for Lewis' voice. Even the "Moneymaker" album (their most commercial and "biggest") probably wouldn't have played great in a huge arena.

My first concert was Metallica - Danzig - Suicidal Tendencies at the Iowa state fairgrounds summer of 1994.

Best concert was millennium new year's eve 1999 at Pontiac Silverdome. Metallica, Kid Rock, Ted Nugent, Sevendust. Being on the floor of the Silverdome surrounded by about 75,000 people was pretty awesome.

Other memorables:

1995 - Van Halen at Hilton (Sammy)
1998 - Metallica at Hilton
2000 - Ozzfest in Charlotte; Ozzy (of course), Godsmack, Pantera, Static X, Incubus

Saw Nine Inch Nails in (I think) 1993 at Carver Hawkeye as my first concert. I was in high school, and nothing compares to what I saw at that concert--both musically and audience. Don't know that I'll see anything like that again. Jim Rose Side Show and Marilyn Manson opened. That was some crazy stuff, too.

We stayed in a cheap Motel 6 that night. Later found out they are all like that!

I think the Register called it the Concert from Hell or something similar. Our parents wondered what they let us get into.
I was at that show too and that's pretty much a spot on description. Just insane. By far my craziest and most intense concert experience. I think it may have been 1994 but I'm not positive either.

I think my first ever concert was U2 at Jack Trice in 1992 for the Zoo TV tour. Back when they were still creative.

Forgot about the U2 concert at Arrowhead Stadium 1997. That was a good one, too.
