This is exactly what we had, with the lid, and it was a no go in G7.

Get his name and information and then tell him you will email Pollard about him. also take a copy of the tailgating policy that states as long as it is enclosed you can have one. Ask him to explain how you don't comply.
Also ask to see his supervisor or who his supervisor is and CC the supervisor
