Fire Rhoads NOW!!!

Too much rage right now and way too many threads so here goes:

Fire Rhoads now? Hell yeah, I'd go one further, every member of the coaching staff should have to find their own way back to Ames. I'll go one further, like UAB we should drop football.

I feel bad for the players. The coaching lost this game pure and simple. If they did what was best for them they would all transfer.

Have to go throw something, back later.

At halftime I was on board with bringing Rhoads back next year. No more. That collapse was embarrassing to watch. But I don't see a point in firing him with only one game to go. Who would be the interim coach? Sturdy? He's not getting the job. They're all gone regardless. As for the next coach, I don't care if he's offense or defense minded. All I want is a coach with a killer attitude. When your foot is on their throat, crush it.

Re: Fire CPR, or drop football.

that was the most pathetic thing I've seen in years.

Iowa State Football would f##k up a wet dream.

Most of you are probably too young to remember this but....many years ago we missed an extra point to beat Nebraska at Clyde Williams. Osborn iced our kicker and it worked. An "Extra Point"! Then some years after Drake is leading some Valley Conf team by 4 pts with 3 seconds to go and loses in OT. How? Other team makes a 3 and is fouled. Gary Garner gets fired after that loss. His players could have sat on the court and done nothing and won. Coaches never assume the worse. Happens in the Pro's. Look at the Super Bowl with Seattle throwing instead of running. I could go on and on. Poop occurs. But when it seems to occur as much as it does with Rhoads JP has to act.

I have fully supported Rhoads until now. Even after last week.

The guy has to be literally ******* stupid after the last two weeks. To not challenging the spot last week, to agreeing to running the football instead of taking a knee.

There are THOUSANDS of amateur football minds at home that would be more intelligent in those situations! It's astonishing. Fire him NOW! The players deserve better.

I wish there was such a thing as disliking a post beacuse this would be it. Yeah players make mistakes, however the players did their jobs in the first half. Coaches need to not make stupid *** calls in the second half. Our offensive play calling turned to ****, evidenced by all the weird *** 4th down option pitch play(that NEVER works for us) when we already had a big lead. Evidenced by the fact that we were up by 7 and refused to just take a knee and force K state to run a 30 second drill and go like 80 yards. When we refused to rush more than 3 and played super soft coverage and basically let Heubner get in a zone and pick us apart.

Sure players made mistakes down teh stretch that ultimately cost us the game, but even letting K state back into this game is 100% on the coaching staff. Hell, ISU should have been up by 10-14 points at the end of this game and the fumbles would have been basically meaningless.

How you are even defending rhoads and company at this point is mind boggling.

Isn't KState playing their 3rd or 4th string QB. Correct?

The result today wasn't coincidence. It is the culmination of several years of systematic deficiencies in the program that Rhoads has been either unwilling or unable to address. He needs to be fired. Unfortunately, the timing is bad because of all the FBS head coaching openings now, but that is also the result of a failure to address the head coaching problem by the AD last year, or the year before that.

So it goes for Cyclone football.

This is what happens when you employ all kinds of pretzel logic to explain away 3-9 and 2-10 seasons that included 2 losses to FCS teams. ISU needs to use the same measuring stick for success that everyone else does, and get away from all the spin.

We should allow CPR to resign with honor. If he refuses then we have no choice. Paul, do you realize you could have saved your job with a win. But you stuck your head up your rear and allowed the Vampire to beat you again. Now it is time for us to part ways.

I think resigning is a good option for Rhoads. Negotiate a big buyout, cash a huge check and then go get an assistant job anywhere(except on offense).
I'm sure his bank account is seven figures by now.
Can Iowa State really sell 3-9 or 4-8 next year? Don't think so.

It is time for Paul Rhoads to be fired at the end of the season. Poor coaching cost us a chance at a bowl game this year.

This....exactly. There was 1:32 left and Kstate had one TO...knee on first down...1:28 or so left...kneel....kneel..about 7-8 seconds left or so by time they spot ball. Then just put a WR in at QB and have him run around backwards zig zagging until time is done. Game over.

You are describing thee old Chuck Shelton play....just goes to show that the grate rhoads is NOT as SMART as Shelton.

Only rhoads could lose a game that is already WON.............FIRE the BUM...........

Negotiate a buyout? Why should he? Why should he bother negotiating 750k a year for the remainder of his contract? He doesn't need to. Sure we may allow him to resign since he's a nice guy. But that buyout ain't being negotiated.

I can't tell you how happy it makes me to see Stormin of all people finally on board with canning this dumb sob. Paul gives up games in the final two minutes quicker than a high school boy blows his load for the first time on prom night.

I always said that we let the season play out and see what happens. That decision was made. Now is the time for another decision. I like CPR. But it is time to part ways. CPR has only himself to blame. Coaches need to execute too Paul. You failed.

Ok. 1) Warren should not have touched the ball after fumble number 1. 2) that 10-12 seconds that didn't run off for Kstate was critics am in the semi-******** decision to not play for OT. If you have 30 seconds you definitely take the knee. 3) I thought the D did a helluva job down the stretch.

As for Rhoads, what we saw are inherent issues with his coaching. Is it time to move move on? Yes but I fear we may not do better with the glut of openings.

Spends too much time jabbering after the refs and not enough coaching his team?

Why is CPR still the head coach? This should have been done already.
