hope your not serious because womens basketball is all this university has. Iowa state womens bball will never go to the final four because we cant get the players from the west coast and east coast to come to AMES IOWA. To me he does pretty damn good with the players he gets. So if i were you guys i would be worrying about our mens basketball program. **** even our wrestling program isnt very good anymore. So in the end i will take the elite 8 anyday

yeah, man our wrestling really stinks it up with 3 conference titles in a row and 3 years with real shots at national titles. we were SOOOOOOOO much better the decade before Cael took over. How many conference titles in the ten years prior to cael?
yeah, being ranked #2 or #3 all year isn't very good. finishing 3rd at the national championships isn't very good either. :dull:
Why does every post have to turn into a big arguement. Obviously the original thread starter was doing an April Fools Joke. Obviously he was not trying to tear down bill Fennely. He was basically saying he is our greatest coach. It would have not been an april fools joke had he used Gmac. It would have been a guy stating an opinion since people actually want Gmac fired.

YEA! finishing third at nationals isnt very good! Also sharing the conference with nebraska isnt very good either! AND LASTLY what happened at the midlands? We had what like 6 wrestlers wrestling for a championship ALL we had to do was win pretty much ONE match and we get the title but did we? H*ll no we didnt who did we let that slip away to? IOWA
WHat happened at the midlands? or at the conference tournament? or against the real #1 team iowa the past few years? As much as i hate iowa they get the job done and take care of business when they have to.

For what it's worth, Bill Fennelly did have the perfect game plan and the ESPN commentators were a bunch of idiots. We would have been in the game with a shot to win it if we could have made some of our three point shots and didn't give them so many offensive boards....that's what killed us, not the Appel

Yea and i sure the hell wouldnt take their "game plan" over fennellys game plan. Fennelly had a great game plan our guards usually dont go 1-16 from three point range do they? If the refs would have called just a few of those hooking on that chick that would have made a little difference. AND i know its hard to say ifs and all that but IF we could have rebounded the ball a little better that would have eliminated a lot of second or even third chance points.
Aw but its all true tho..... WHat is there like 5 conference teams? we had numerous opportunities to take care of business against nebraska but sucked it up. Again at the midlands numerous opportunities to lock up that event 6 opportunities i believe and we couldnt get ONE match won to put it away. Then at the ncaa's finishing third is not that great anymore when i hear how good we are going to be every year.
I'd say it's outlived it's usefulness - then again, it was a worthless thread from the beginning...
