Now I do not think these two idiots deserve a response, but I do want to make one point since it's continuing to get brought up regarding the game plan vs. Stanford and the Appel beast.
Game Plan: Let Appel kick the weak ISU post player's butts -- do not double. Limit others making shots. KEEP OFF GLASS -- no 2nd chance points. Limit Stanford's chances at FT line. MAKE SHOTS -- ISU offense.
Let's see: Appel scores 46. BF assumed the inevitable - his post players aren't good enough to guard her, so what, let her score. No one else on Stanford scores over 7 points ("limit others making shots"). 2nd chance points = ISU 4, STAN 17. hmmm...FT attempts = ISU 7, STAN 20. MAKE SHOTS = 36% from 2, 27% from 3, 57% from FT line.
SOMEONE tell me that the gameplan should've changed. ISU would've won this game if they DID stick to the gameplan and made some OPEN looks that they got in the game. ESPN's dumb color people kept remarking about this throughout the night. They are wrong, as is everyone else who thinks we should've doubled her. We picked a bad night to miss open looks. We hit shots, we all are booking hotels in STL.
And no, BF shouldn't be fired. He's the best thing to ever happen to ISU athletics.
