FINALLLY!!!!........... JT ROCK.........

Let's channel that positivity!! :)
Got a kid that's giving up his senior year to come and get in the trenches with grown ass men to better prepare himself to be a major contributor a year from now when we'll really need him. I'm not a huge into the details recruiting follower but I remember CDub saying this kid was on track to be a potential Micky D participant. I'm not sure how much more proud I as a fan could be to know that's the type a young man we're getting.

From what I've seen, the kid has great character, seems very hard working, and doesn't mind being a role model. I remember an article about him, last year maybe, where he stayed well after one of his games, and helped pick up trash in the gym that they were playing! How many starting high school BB players would want to do that let alone do it?

I think he's gonna be special! Glad he's a Cyclone!

This may have already been hashed out, but enrolling a year earlier; does that skew the scholarship allocations?

Had an open one this year and he was committed for next year so I don't see how.

It has no long-term impact. All it does is use up the one vacated by Jeremiah Williams for next season. Worrying about what the scholarship chart might look like more than one or maybe seasons out (so spring 2025 in our case) is a pointless exercise in the free transfer and NIL era, though. TJ will figure it out when those seasons come.

Our last recruit who wasn’t physically ready for college ball and was a likely redshirt turn out to be ok. In fact, it seems like there were 260 million reasons he was in the news recently.

Freshman guards being P6 ready aren't seniors in HS posts or big forwards being ready for P6. Freshman guards all over college light it up from the get go. Not many posts do, let alone ones a year younger than everyone else.

Never say never, just not expecting it. Huge upside for him personally in coming early though. Really like. There's a LOT to adjust to and he can do it without immediate pressure or expectations.

Wondering if he already had the credits to graduate or is finishing up over the summer. If so I'm surprised this wasn't known/ announced sooner.
I just read an article from up there. He did not yet have the credits and is doing summer school to graduate. He had been getting recruited by several prep schools for 23-24, so he phone up TJ + Green and asked their thoughts on it. They said, if you are going to pass up your senior year in SD, why not just come develop here with our open scholarship.

I 100% agree. It will likely be in his and the program’s best interest if he redshirts. My response was mostly because some posters are guaranteeing he will redshirt.

Kalkbrenner is a great player and elite defensively but is pretty limited on the offensive end to be honest. Kyle Green turned far less talent into elite post players in his tenure at UNI. Rock could be really special if he continues to develop.

Kalkbrenner is a great player on both ends. He had an offensive rating of 133.4 last year and averaged an efficient 15.9 ppg. Those are outstanding numbers on the offensive end.

I think it's a good comp for Rock too. JT just needs to work on the strength and conditioning aspect of things during his redshirt year.
