MANHATTAN, Kan. -- Kansas State quarterback Skylar Thompson is unlikely to play against sixth-ranked Oklahoma on Saturday, even though he is making progress from a knee injury that he sustained in an early victory over Southern Illinois.

Wildcats coach Chris Klieman said Tuesday that Thompson, the sixth-year senior who took some warm-up snaps before last week's loss at Oklahoma State, remains on target to return against Iowa State on Oct. 16.

Of ******* course

Translation: he’ll play against ISU.

As of 9/26, here is what the ESPN probability would have the final BIG 12 standings:
Oklahoma 9-0
Iowa State 7-2 (Loss @ Oklahoma)
Texas 7-2 (Loss @ Iowa St, Oklahoma)
Baylor 5-4 (Losses @TCU, @Okla St, Oklahoma, Texas)
TCU 5-4 (Losses @Oklahoma, Texas, @Oklahoma St, @ Iowa St)
Okla St 4-5
W Virginia 4-5
Texas Tech 3-6
Kansas St 1-8
Kansas 0-9

I'm most surprised by Texas over Baylor in Waco. For those still wanting a Big 12 championship game, I think we have to thread the needle with Baylor and Texas picking up some losses, and both losing to Oklahoma. I also feel like Baylor could win at TCU or at Oklahoma State.

Updated as of 10/3:
Oklahoma 9-0
Iowa State 7-2
Texas 7-2
Texas Tech 5-4
Baylor 5-4
TCU 4-5
Oklahoma St 4-5
W Virginia 2-7
Kansas St 2-7
Kansas 0-9

Crazy that Oklahoma St is ranked #12, and ESPN is predicting they lose 5 of their last 7 games. Only wins of Kansas TCU.

Outside of the slow start, the most disappointing has been the WR corps - outside of Hutchinson. But I still believe that ISU finishes strong, with only one more loss.

I think 7-5 is where we end up. Lose to OU, Texas and Ok St.

Sure hope we take care of business this weekend.

I don't see us losing to both Texas and Okie St. A split is a decent possibility but honestly, I think it's more likely we win both of them than we lose both of them.

It really might depend on what Texas does. If they drop one more and Big 12 title aspirations are all but gone, they might end up losing players to transfer/NFL draft before they even play ISU.

I am ok with this.
