Ferentz bashes player causing him to transfer

Why are all you checking out moms on Facebook? No one under 40 looks at it anyway.

I don't have Facebook. I'm in my mid 30s. When I did have it, the majority of posts are from moms. They're the only ones that really use it. And when they do, it's this cringeworthy crap.

I am a mom in my 60’s and I occasionally use my husband’s account to find out the times that small businesses are open. It is really good for that. Someone should start some separate less dramatic social media deal for small businesses that do not have the acumen or resources to set up a webpage. Facebook seems easy for them to use.

Google My Business is the same thing, but you’re right, it seems like older users use Facebook to communicate with/get info from local businesses. My mom is 67. She uses Facebook as if it is the Internet. Rarely gets outside that app.

Imagine hiring your own son to be your offensive coordinator, and you have one of the worst offenses in all of division 1 football, and yet you choose to make fun of your 3rd team quarterback in your press conference. Sure seems to me like he's making fun of the wrong person.

I think the local businesses use it rather than setting up a webpage. Easy to change hours or announce a sudden closure

In a Facebook post, Hogan's mother, Amy, wrote that her son is leaving the program because of a joke made by coach Kirk Ferentz during a press conference.

"Deuce did not leave Iowa because of playing time... The head coach slandered him in a press conference," she wrote in a Facebook post on Wednesday. "Very out of character for the coach... he was trying to be funny... unfortunately, there was no backtracking on his mistake. He has since apologized to Deuce, the team, and the media. But Deuce cannot play for him... and everyone in the facility understands why."

He was clearly on the fence about staying. Kirk's awful comment was his "open door" he was waiting for, just by reading his mom's letter.

End of the day, if he wasn't good enough to beat out Padilla and Petras, then this probably isn't a bad deal for Iowa. They certainly still have the issue of having to decide between two subpar QB's, and no depth in the QB room even if it wasn't quality depth, and the issue of having a coach who is out of touch and likes to publicly make himself look like a fool.

The Ferentz kids have a pretty reasonable and clean background though, right?

As a walk on?? This kid was a 4-star recruit. Must not be developing well??
As a quarterback, you need to have good judgement skills. His choice of going to Iowa out of HS to play QB puts those skills into question so he was downgraded a star
