Fellow Clones - I was born and raised in Centerville Ia, and now am a professor at Okie State (hence the name). I am a die hard cyclone and am asking for some help from the best online voters in the country. I was eating with my son at Buzzard Billys and was asked to do a radio bit for KXNO. I love Big 12 sports and have been a clone follower for many years. If you would be so kind give me a vote, I'm Brian P. and am wearing a OSU shirt (they do pay the bills). Anyway, lets get 2 in a row, go Clones! Link is at the bottom - Brian

One of my native Oklahoma friends (and grad of Okie State) recently told me it is offensive to call it "Okie State." I told him he is a d-bag because I have called it that for as long as I can remember. Does your post mean I win the argument?

There is a small percent of the population in OK that thins the term "Okie" is an insult. It started in the Dust Bowl era when people were fleeing the state. This homeless and poor population was often tabbed "Okies" by people from outside the state. It is synonymous with "White trash" for some people.

Then Okie State it is!
