FCS channel questions??

So with DirectTV, am I able to get the sports pack for one month then remove it after this game? I have to sell my wife on this but need to know more. Thanks

I don't have the sports pack. I emailed DirectTV earlier this week, and here the email I received:

"I understand that you are looking for game. As I checked our records, I see that the game will be aired on Oct 3 at 3PM Iowa State @ Kansas State at Ch. 617.

Please be guided that to protect their rights, we must enforce the blackouts and availability mandated by them.

In some cases, if a game is blacked out from certain DIRECTV channels or sports subscriptions, you may be able to see it on another DIRECTV channel, or on one of your local broadcast channels. We hope you will understand these restrictions that are placed on us and we're sorry if they cause you any inconvenience.

Visit directv.com/blackouts for answers to the most frequently asked questions about sports blackouts."

I just checked, and it appears I receive channel 617. Right now there's nothing on it, but it doesn't say "channel not available". So are we good to go without the sports pack?
 
I am on DirecTv also and I am pretty sure I have watched a couple parts of games on channel 617 also, no sports pack here. It still doesn't have anything listed for Saturday at 2, but as long as they don't black it out for some reason I am going to assume I can get it.
 
You don't need the Sports Pack to get 617. FCS is not included in the Sports Pack, it's just that DirecTV chooses to show that particular feed on that channel. FCS is marketed as cable sports programming, so calbe customers can add all three FCS channels by subscribing to their particular sports pack. But with DirecTV you get one or two of those channels as a freebie.
 
I just did a search on DishNetwork..you are correct. It appears they will have a replay though? I need to get DirecTV!!!

i called direct tv and kinda bitched about their falling out with versus,
i told them i was interested in the sports pack and they gave it to me with 5 bones off for the next three months.

So i guess i got deal.

But I really do hope they get versus back in the next 2 weeks

Keep dreaming.

If they haven't resolved it by now, they won't have it done in 2 weeks.

Better get Mediacom if you want to watch the game on Versus! :biglaugh:
 
I'm under the assumption I can watch it with my Clonezone cyclones.com membership like I did last week still. I have my PC hooked up to my 50" tv so it streams awesome. Was good last week, and espn360 is reallly sharp.
 
Check this out...

Canceling Direct on Sunday, having Dish come on Monday. I'll see the FCS game this week and the Versus game next week. This deal includes a bargain with my wife that I'll just have to attend any future FCS games I'll miss by having Dish.
