Alright I get what you're saying but won't there have to walk up the hill no matter how they are getting there? I guess I just don't see how walking up the hill really matters either.

Miss State announced they will be building a football only facility. 80,000 sqft at $20 to $25 MM two story - no pictures. Has there been any discussion of size and cost out ours?

Wash State is also looking into a FOF - 100k sqft and $25-$30MM. Based on the article WSU is in way worse shape than us.

That's why I initially asked the question whether or not the elevation of this new building would be higher than field level or not?
Obviously you aren't going to have the team walk out of the locker room and then have to walk up the hillside in order to run down it. You would have to grade that hillside down some so that you could walk out of that new building and run right down a somewhat smaller pitched slope than there is now and onto the field.
I don't know if it would work or not? That's kinda why I asked the question. I've been trying to think about how much higher the current entrance into the practice facility is than the field level? It has to be somewhat higher, doesn't it?
The tunnel doesn't change the difference in elevation. Won't the new facility already by quite a ways above field level? I am having trouble picturing everything but it seems like everything is above field level.
In the model I built, Google Sketchup pulled elevations directly out of Google Earth. How accurate that is I don't know but the tunnel is flat coming out of my version of the new facility and it ends about 13' above field level.
The tunnel is ~275' long so the degree of incline/decline would be less than 1 percent to bring it down to field level.

The facility will be slightly higher than field level. If you imagine the FOF next to the indoor facility, which is level with the Olsen building, you then have a slight downhill walk to the field. It will be the same as when the team walked out of the locker rooms along side the Jake when Mac was here.
I would bet that the tunnel would connect to the Jake and the players would come out like normal without changing the layout of the stadium at all.
Personally I don't like the idea of a cellar door. I don't think it would look that cool, plus since we are the cyclones, the "cellar" would be protecting ourselves from... ourselves. Also with our football history, coming out of the cellar leave us open to too many jokes.
How the f do you know the new scoreboard is going to look silly? Have you seen the finished product already?

There isn't going to be a "cellar door". It's just a weird idea created on here. You are correct about the tunnel connecting to the Jacobsen building.
a little harsh. The Jake should of been 4x bigger and wrapped around most of the North opening expanse.
I'd love for iSU to build around it and implode the interior and enlarge the entire structure by 5 times
