Favre and Interceptions

Do you realize Favre's last pass the past 3 seasons has been intercepted? Not sure if that has ever happened before and surely will not happen again for some time.

2007 Packers vs Giants: NFC Championship Game
2008 Jets vs Dolphins: Week 17
2009 Vikings vs Saints: NFC Championship Game
 
I think technically, his last pass in 2008 wasn't an INT but the throw before it was. He has choked a lot in the postseason. Especially in the NFC Championship game. Not only choked, but the INT he threw were ridiculous.
 
The Giants interception was a killer. I was so ****** off then. The one last night wasn't as big. Due to the conservative play calling and then the 12 men on the field penalty, Favre had to make a play. The chances of Longwell making a 55+ FG wasn't good and Favre knew they needed 10 more yards. Last night was hardly a Favre choke

I wouldn't have said he choked, but I think he made a horrible decision. He could have legged out a few yards and given Longwell a shot.

Wasn't a good chance of making it, but better than if he hadn't thrown the interception :wink:

If he would have taken off running he could have got at least 10 yards. I think all the hits he took got in his head.

Haha. Favre couldn't have gotten 5 yards on that run. He is Brett Favre not Vince Young!

Don't get me wrong he shouldn't have thrown that ball, but that didn't cost them the game. They were going to OT even if he threw it away. Fumbles and conservative play calling cost them the game

Good analysis, there looked to be two defenders in position to quickly close the gap and stop him for basically no gain if he made a move to run with the ball.
 
Regardless of how difficult a 55 yard field goal kick would be, you'd still at least like to have a shot. That interception was just deflating for the Vikings and really got the crowd pumped up.

Favre didn't lose the game, but he cost them what would be their only chance to win in the end (Thx OT rules.)

Yeah, maybe, maybe not. But he's got the leg for it I think, kicking in a dome, you atleast have to give your team a shot to win. That INT was a very rookie mistake, it's one thing if you throw a decent pass and it gets picked, but there wasn't anything good about that pass.
 
I thought the line of scrimmage was the 37, which makes if a 54 yard attempt, even if Farve doesn't pick up anything running (but it looked like a sure 3-5 yards if he angled out of bounds). Longwell is a great kicker and I'd put his chances of making a 48-54 yard field goal at better than 50% in a dome.
 
One question on that 12 men penalty... when they showed Favre wasn't he trying to call a TO, when he noticed he had 12 men? If so, didn't they just call a TO the play before? Wouldn't this be back-to-back timeouts or an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty? Just wondering, thought this was called in a game a few years back.

They just mentioned that on ESPN 1000 today in Chicago.
