Saw a thread where someone was bringing Pete's grandkids down to the Texas game. I REALLY miss Pete doing play by play.....not that John is bad, just that Pete was so freakin' good.....

I can remember a BB game (I believe against a Billy Tubbs coached Sooner team) where several calls had gone against the Clones. There was a media timeout, but the producer forgot to go to commercial, and Pete's mike was still open. He says to Eric, "Boy, that was really f***in bu**$hit." I laughed for like the next 10 minutes.

Pete also came to speak to our local Sertoma group, it was the week leading up to the ISU/IA football game. The Sertoma guys had a kangaroo court, for example you'd get fined $1.00 for having the worst tie on that night, etc. One of the guys got fined $1.00 for being the most obnoxious ISU fan in the room. He stood up, calmly put his dollar in the fine jar, and said "F**k Hayden Fry." Brought down the house. I looked up at the dais, Pete had his head down on the table, just shaking with laughter.

Loved that guy.

Ha -- that was me bringing my boys down for last Saturday's game. Your post reminded me of another game, perhaps the same one since it was against a Tubbs-era Oklahoma team, where Woody Mayfield was making a bunch of terrible calls and dad and Eric started chirping at him a bit -- he flipped them the bird as he ran down the sideline!
