5 - Brackins

I'm not saying this should be the starting lineup, but when these five are all on the court together good things happen. I know people are high on Lucca right now, which is completely acceptable given the showing against Drake last night. And Hamilton is obviously getting better and better, but compared to Dendy he puts me to sleep. This lineups ability to run and score excites me more than any of the others. Just my thoughts...

Boy, this basketball season is going to be exciting.

I just love the fact that we dont have a starting 5 taht plays the whole game. I enjoy watching a variety of different player groups, vs watching the same 5 guys play the whole game to have a chance to win.

Tough call after the way Lucca played. He is quicker this year! I think it will depend on who we are playing quite frankly...zone or MtoM, and the opposing player body type... Also, do we need more defense or offense as Ham is in the mix when we have to guard a big man.

Finally a nice problem to have in MBB.

1. garret
2. christopherson
3. gilstrap/lucca
4. Dendy/vanderbeken
5. Brackins

I love what hamilton can bring to the table and hes deffiantly going to valuable when we need someone to guard bigger bodies, but i dont know what it is but i love vanderbeken, he can shoot the ball and he plays really good defense for the most part and just hustles, i love vanderbeken/brackins, but i really like dendy to...I dont know either way i love the players we have

Colvin
Christopherson
Gilstrap
Brackins/Dendy
Hamilton/Brackins. (I want to see more aggressiveness out of Ham. When the easy dunk is there rip down the friggin backboard.)

I like the one we have now. Bring in Dendy for Brackins and you still have a playmaker, and the same with SC for Lucca. Dendy and SC are both better at creating for themselves than Lucca and Ham so I like having that spread.

I'd start Dendy for Hamilton. Christopherson first guard off the bench, Vanderbeken first forward.

Man this is tough because we finally have a rotation. But mine would be....
Garrett
christopherson
staiger
dendy/gilstrap
brackins

This is more of a shooters lineup but its tough to stop especially when Christopherson can drive the ball also. It will usually always leave a guy open and 2-5 can pop the three ball.

my favorite line-up is definitely garrett, staiger, gilstrap, dendy, and brackins, but there are certain games where we r gonna need a bigger body like hamilton to start (Texas, KU, OU). Hamilton was in foul trouble but it was easy to see that he didn't fit well into that drake game. Smaller lineups are going to be hard for hamilton to get minutes. JVB is much better against those smaller more athletic teams. I really hope Ham can become that bruiser inside but this year I dont see that happening. I won't be suprised to see hamilton get 5-10 minutes in games against smaller line-ups

I really like the fact we have 9 solid guys in our rotation. The guys off the bench are instant energy with Colvin, Dendy, Christopherson, and JVB, throw in Boozer for defense. We don't lose anything with the 1st 4 off the bench, especially with JVB looking stronger in the post. I really liked when Christopherson, DG, Staiger, Brackins, were all together, didn't seem to lose anything. All our line-ups have benefits, and McD is loving being able to finally matchup. There won't be many teams we play this year that we can't line up against, at least on paper. Boy, I am really excited, and with ESPN 360, ESPN U, and other websites I am able to watch almost every game. Couldn't say that last year when I lived in Iowa!!

I agree, I think that's my favorite lineup, although Scotty and Lucca are interchangable at this point in it.

I also thing it shoundn't be the starting lineup. It's great to have a starting lineup, sub in 2 or 3 guys and have your best running lineup in. It's a change of pace, where we start pushing the ball after the other team has settled into a slower pace.

Actually, I think my favorite "running" lineup is:

Garrett
Colvin
Lucca
Gilstrap
Brackins/Dendy

When we go small, we can really push the pace, and Lucca is a really good passer on the break.

The idea that we can have legitimate offensive potential without Brackins in the game is a very nice change as well.

I am with you. I like our bench players, they play with energy and play great defense, hopefully this continues.

I think the starting lineup is fine right now. You have to have some guys off the bench that can score and give the defense another look and Dendy, Colvin, and Christopherson do just that.

I wish Ham would get more agressive on offense. He's usually the biggest guy on the floor, if you commit a few offensive fouls while trying to post up I'd applaud that right now because at least he wouldn't just be standing there waiting for a rebound.

I like the line up that's winning... Whether we need to go big to neutralize a big frontcourt or small to keep a quick pace. I really don't care who's out there as long as they're taking care of bizness.

Hamilton will be nice to have against Dexter Pittman, Aldrich, and Tiny Gallon

Hamilton is averaging 1 foul for every 4 minutes played now ( 40 minutes total, 10 fouls). Against weaker competition. Unless he improves this, he's going to be bounced from the game against the more talented big guys in the first three minutes.

He's still a big body though... Hopefully he can get his fouling under control quickly... It'd be nice to have him against ND (assuming we'll see them).

Id rather have him eating up fouls vs Craig or Dendy.

Remember he is playing with a pretty good thigh injury.
