I think this thread is onto something, but I’d also be interested in which age groups identify best with which logos. Might be a little advance for cf polls, but if you could first select an age group then your logos of choice it would be more telling. Maybe I’ll put together a surveymonkey. The reason I would find this interesting is because I am 30 and grew up with the blender cy (younger years were Orr era, college years they rolled out the new i-state logo), but I really dislike the blender logo. I prefer the “retro” logos like the late 70’s I-State logo, walking cy logos, and the 80’s/early 90’s basketball tornado logo. But what is retro to me is not for others. Younger kids may say that the blender cy is retro...therefore cool. Cyclone elders may prefer even older logos or prefer the logos during their time spent in Ames. Or maybe bad logos are just bad logos and distaste for them transcends age groups? Maybe people identify with logos during years of success? So many questions and not enough answers haha
@Kagavi 's version of the Orr Cyclone is my absolute favorite secondary logo. Keep IState because it says who we are, but this is just phenomenal. I want this on shirts, pronto.
Tons of people hate the 80s cyclone because football was awful at the time. It's just a timeless representation of the ISU Cyclone logo.

The "bird in a blender" is much more tolerable without the blue and busy lettering everywhere.

Not even hating on the blue so much. It's just too busy for a logo. It just screams 90s, which is the era it was used.
The modern version without the CYCLONES on it is better, but still a bird in a blender.

How is it unoriginal? Just curious. I've never seen a logo like Walking Cy. But I only experienced it later in life as I was a child in the 70s.
Bird in a Blender is definitely original though.
I just prefer the retro style.
