Favorite boy names

The easiest way I picked names was to find ones that werent associated with jackasses I know. I didnt personally know any Ethans or Owens,I liked those names and used them. Famous people of those names didnt turn me away either. I have found over time that personalities fit certain names. Im weird like this. For our daughter we named her Zooey after Zooey Deschanel. I always liked her personality and thought the spelling was rather unique. Zoe means life in greek and we liked that as well.

the name Owen always reminds me of this movie.

My wife and I just had our first. My last name is pretty common so I want something prety unique. My wife is a teacher so she is pretty biased. We decided when first started dating that our first son would be Zebadiah. Unique enough you most likely wont every run into another but mainstream enough you wont get excluded from a job.

... so long as that job involves churning butter and raising barns. :jimlad:

I keed, I keed.

Do you call him Zebadiah, or does he go by Zeb? Zeb is pretty cool.

HeMan

anything with a K, or Dakota (or Cody)- these are winners and you can never go wrong with them.

...argh :jimlad:

As a teacher, there have been very few Dakotas that havent been complete idiots. It seems like the name Dakota (or any variation of it) just has a predisposition to be an *******

I don't know why, but I like people who use names normally thought of as last names as first names. "Harrison" is a bit overdone but I have a friend with a son named "Carter" and I really like that. To me it somehow seems to emote more strength than most of the traditional male first names. I recommend just looking at the phone book at last names and try saying different ones with your last name and see how different combinations sound to you. I'd stay away from Sirhan, Manson, and Hitler but you get the drift..

My wife is due a week from today and we cannot agree on a single boy name. I am extremely excited as this will be our second and final child and having a boy and a girl is perfect for us . But I need help with some names as all the boy names she throws out there are too weird for me. So what are your favorite boy names?

how about Gage, Jeb, Jason, Jed, Josh, Calvin, Benjamin, Colton, or another 'mountain' name used by 500 million other parents the last 20 years:twitcy:

enter angry responses here:(----------------)

or Tyler, Justin, Dustin, or some other name used by 400 million parents

I'm a fan of the name Ross. Short, simple and not really an odd name. I also like the name Aleks but I like weird spellings.

My wife and I both liked Gus but couldn't decide what it should be short for (Gustav, August, Augustine, etc). We ended up making his middle name Gus (just plain Gus) and I wouldn't be surprised if he or his friends/relatives end up calling him that by the time he gets older.

I'm pretty sure Bruno, Rocco, and Vinnie could beat the crap out of Todd, Tyler and Spencer.
