Fans In the Stands and in the Tailgating Lots

We had quite a few hock fans around us tailgating and everyone got along and were quite civil. I did see 3 instances where some young drunk fans(of both sides by the way) were trying to start crap with someone but nothing ever came of it. We had a few Herky fans near us in Jack Trice and they acted fine and were pretty decent. Overall was a pleasant day other than the crap product I saw on the field.

I've heard that more than once that NFL fans are brutal
Went to a Bears Vikings game when Randy Moss was a rookie. I watched two bears fans, two rows in front of me, start hassling two kids wearing Vikings gear in the row in front of us. The bears fans started throwing vulgar insults at the little kids. After a Moss touchdown, one of the guys turned and dumped a beer on the kids. Dad threw a punch and chaos ensued. Luckily, only the two Bears fans were ejected, but it was disgusting.

We did not have game tickets but had a nice setup in D4 for the game. We only had positive experiences with those around us, Hawkeye fans included. Fun day, outside of the game result.

I will say trying to watch a game on 20 second TV delay within earshot of the stadium is rather distracting.

All the Hawkeye trash taking advantage of the Iowa State Alumni Center ‘s accommodations. Clean restrooms, free food, and air conditioned lounges. They have zero respect for ISU but feel entitled to barge right in.

This is the ******** I'm taking about. There are dipshits in every single fan base out there. There are good folks given a bad name because of the dipshits.

We would all be in a much better spot if people would grow the **** up and quit generalizing. Call douchebags out for being douchebags. The gear they're wearing doesn't matter.

The Iowa parents section was across the row from me and they were some of the nicest visiting fans I've ever dealt with.
You are 100% correct. But it seems Iowa has a much higher % of their fan base that doesn’t act civil. The majority of Iowa fans are fine. However, such a high % of fans that aren’t civil is more a reflection of the overall fanbase. Meaning opposing fans view the Iowa fan base negatively. Most opposing fans understand there will always be a fan here or there that act strange. But Iowa takes it to another level
No. Was two years ago for three quarters but none in sight. One of the Hawk teens decided to sit on the stairs for a while so people couldn’t get through at all and said he paid for that ******* seat and try to make him move.
I would put Iowa wrestling fans up against ANY. The worst, bar none.

You forgot the definition of Hawkeye.

Blum brings this up in the podcast.

There was a boy who looked to be about fifth grade sitting right in front of the foul mouthed drunk Hawk teens. I probably would have just tried to sit hillside with him if I was the parents. Some of the people who tried to reason with them mentioned the young kids around but that seemed to just make them worse.

ironically enough, the nicest Hawk fans I've encountered (other than my friend group) were in Kinnick Stadium in 2018. The ones that come to Ames seem to be the worst for whatever reason.

No real Hawk issues. Almost saw two Cyclones go at it late in the 4th. One was voicing g his displeasure of our great offense and time management while the other was made because he was in support of our coaches. One of the wives told them both to grow up and called the issue. These men were probably both near 60.

I stopped going to Iowa for games. Last on was the JJ Moses return game we won. Went to about 4 or 5 from 1991 to about 2003 or so. Was almost universally treated awful every time. Beer thrown at us, every name in the book, and just not a fun time. So I stopped going. No game is worth attending if it is not enjoyable.

I hate this game, to much chance for bad crap to go down. If I have another person I know reach out and call, Text or email me for the first time all year to say Go Hawks I might have a breakdown. They come put of the woodwork this week every year.

Lastly, why do Iowa Fans get off on wearing Iowa Gear to Iowa State games that do not involve the Hawkeyes? Why, you are providing your a douche by that act alone. I will wear Iowa State gear many places but never a Hawk game not involving Iowa Stste. Just a **** move....

One more last, if a Iowa fan sees me on the road or a vacation in Cyclone gear. I DO NOT NEED YOU TO COME UP TO ME AND SAY GO HAWKS. As you could tell by my Cyclone Gear, Go Hawks is not coming out of my mouth....
