F1 2022 Discussion

I think Max is great, not my #1 driver but close. Guaranteed every driver ever has tons of terrible sounding radio calls, especially after something goes wrong.

Oh yeah. In all reality, he's no different than if you had a consistently mic'd up NFL QB or any other elite level player. Really no different than anything that happens in a football game. MV complaining about other drivers? When was the last time you didn't see somebody complain about a pass interference call or holding or a roughing the passer call? MV complaining about the way things are setup on the car? Can you image what it would be like if the QB could talk back to the play caller? Or what about all those conversations that happen on the sideline that we don't hear?

The only difference is that Max's conversations are selectively broadcast over the air and he's under a lot of stress/effort when talking to the team.

Latifi getting more out of that ****-box williams than hamilton is his merc, is eye-opening

I wouldn't say Latifi (The GOAT) is getting more, the Williams has been faster straight line than the Merc all year.

Hamilton has been let down by the team this year. I still think he is better than Max in an equal car.

He said after that he did it on a video game first but wasn’t sure if it would work in real life. Absolutely crazy
He had to gain like 4 places to stay in the playoffs I think I heard so it’s not like he had anything to loose by going full send there. I would assume NASCAR is going to make a rule against it now but dammit Smokey Yunik is somewhere smiling down at that crazy bastard.

Yeah, that's getting a rule added for it. Even though it only really works in a very specific set of circumstances (last lap of a short track race where you need to get X number of spots to advance).

It was slightly dangerous as the track access gate for Martinsville is in Turn 4 so if that was even slightly misaligned he could have spun all the way across the track.

I'm guessing this will fall under the track limits rules similar to dropping below the line at the bottom of the track.

Just a small sense of pride along with a bit of a superiority complex but at this point in the year we have over 750 replies to this thread and the NASCAR one has 30 something.

That's proof right there that @ChrisMWilliams should have spent a lot more time with Ross talking about F1 when he was on the radio.

In reality with F1 the only exciting lap seems to be the first lap. After that. like in yesterday's race it was a pretty boring race. Just my two cents. Ok the only other exciting thing is what will Ferrari do to screw things up when it comes to strategy.
