Fortunately for ISU fans this will change going forward. Iowa will be in one of the P2 conferences while ISU will be playing in a watered down version of the Big 12. It will be interesting to see the impact of losing your two blue bloods and the money discrepancy between the P2 conferences and the Big 12.

I would be willing to bet that Iowa wouldn't be able to use the same "the team was sick" excuse being rolled out by you if the roles were reversed. ISU fans would be laughing at Iowa fans for using such an excuse.

Also, Iowa lost their best players as the season went on and ISU didn't. I wonder how ISU would have fared if they lost Becht, Tampa, Breymer and Noel for a large part of the season. I'm also not convinced that ISU wouldn't have "struggled" against Nebraska, Illinois, NW, Minny and Rutgers.

And how. Take QB for example. ISU had depth behind its starter. Becht proved very serviceable and Kohl was a much ballyhooed recruit. Iowa's depth at QB consisted of Deacon "Benny" Hill.
