Fortunately for ISU fans this will change going forward. Iowa will be in one of the P2 conferences while ISU will be playing in a watered down version of the Big 12. It will be interesting to see the impact of losing your two blue bloods and the money discrepancy between the P2 conferences and the Big 12.
You obviously don't understand our overhead model vs iowa's overhead model.

Their punter who is very good had over a 1,000 more yards kicking the ball then their offense did run and passing it. The only other negative team was one of the service academies and they were like 75 yards different between the kicking and offensive production.
Iowa averaged the 9th least YPG of any team from any school in the last 15 years.....and the 2nd least from P5 teams. Wake Forest, somehow, averaged 216 ypg in 2014.

Of course I know none of this, I am but a simple Iowa fan. But let me take a guess at your last question, like most land in Iowa over the last 50 years the value of the land has increased???

Wrong. Maybe we need some basics. If land earns zero dollars, and can't be sold, then it technically has zero value. Furthermore, this land has overhead like maintenence, etc, which means it is technically a financial drag. Zero. Notta.

So I could have gotten that land if I was just willing to take over the overhead? After all the land earns zero dollars, couldn't be sold, and technically had zero value.

There are a lot of details in all of the rfp information and approvals that the Board of Regents have approved. Please see this information as the best source.

Rough attempt at global level for the steps:
- do you own the land and does it have any existing debt? Yes and no.
- Hire a real estate firm to do a market feasibility study for such a development. Yes and ongoing.
- is the land shovel ready and no flood plain issues, i.e., can someone build a building and tie into sewers and utilities? In process and will cost roughly $28 million. Complete in summer of '25 and all the money raised
- Sign a large tenant to get the ball rolling. Done - Mary Greeley signed a ground lease that will pay for the land improvement costs of $28 million over the next 35 yeats??
- Continue to refine master plan and get leads for potential other retail tenants. Ongoing.
- Do market research to wealthy fans and businesses to sign 10 year leases on approximately 25 condos. Interest is strong with lots of Q&A going on. Cut deals and build condos - '26??
- Get concerts back to Jack Trice. Done - G Straight in '24.
- market research for a hotel. Branded or not? To be determined. Complete in '26-'27?
- produce posituve cash flow to reinvest back into CY, Fischer, and Scheman so the national fine arts will return. -25-'28??

Just curious because I don't know where else to ask. I am NOT attempting to ignite a political debate. I am NOT interested in polemics. But, since your identity is either political or historical. . . .

Does your identifier "1776" refer to the Patriots who fought under Washington and those who wrote the Declaration of Independence and framed the United States Constitution? Or, perhaps, modernists who falsely claim that identity?

You realize that all fans use excuses right? ISU fans used a weather delay as an excuse a few years ago. A freaking weather delay???
Yeah, it was almost as bad as Iowa fans blaming the loss at ISU on the new scoreboard, a freaking scoreboard???
