F*CK IOWA

Yes! All of those memories of downed punts and safeties and Cooper Dejean heroics that have been made this year (it WASN'T A FAIR CATCH). Spoiled! Tainted! Too painful to even think about anymore. Little brother proved it was all fool's gold! I would laugh. Kirk would cry. Probably. He cries all the time.
No that is coming for a small portion of the fan base in the B10 championship game. Most don’t see this as a “special” season.

Of course the caveat to that being if they pull out a miracle in said B10 championship game.

C’mon…..how can it be a championship game when the best 2 teams aren’t playing in it ? Sukeyes are at best, the 4th place team. How bout you just call it an exhibition game for the conference to get some lame tv exposure…. But then I can’t really see anyone caring enough to watch.

Sargin rankings use margin of victory or defeat for it's formula. Anything like that is going to rank Iowa pretty low of course. Iowa State tends to lose a lot of close games on other hand. Having said that to answer your question I still do think Iowa State is Iowa's best win narrowly over Wisconsin, Rutgers, Illinois, and Northwestern. I think Iowa State would be in close games with all of those teams and probably be 2-2 or 3-1 best case with probably all of them being 1 score games.
Thank you for saying that! A lot of my Hawk friends will never admit or acknowledge anything good that Iowa State does. They are really rubbing it in winning their division when they would place fourth in the East. I know there are fans on here that do that to Iowa as well. I think ISU would beat Northwestern and Illinois fairly easily. Rutgers would be closer and Wisconsin would be a good game that could go either way. ISU isn’t that good but I am happy with their season considering how many players they lost and how many freshman are playing.

You had me until here.

Our addiction to football will get plenty of eyeballs on any games on 12/2.

Iowa State has had what I'd call an acceptable season. Made another bowl game and best thing is developed quite a few young guys into promising players setting up excitement for next couple seasons depending on how offseason goes. I'd disagree only on Illinois with how you see those 4 opponents. Illinois is more like Iowa State than any of those other teams. Started shaky, improved as season worn on especially at quarterback. Probably better in the air than on the ground. I think Iowa State has the better defense and Illinois a better offense. I think it'd be 1 score game and would pick the home team.

I love the arguments about Iowa's toughest win. Either way it comes down to a 6-5 team with a QB getting the first meaningful snaps of his career. (Mordecai getting hurt, and Becht in game 2). Truly climbing up the rough side of the mountain.

They’ve played against 2 decent QBs. One was playing in his second game ever in a huge rivalry spot. The other beat them 31-0.

I would say ISU, Wisconsin, Rutgers, Illinois, and Northwestern are all pretty close in terms of best win this year.
I think this was a troll attempt, but I'll bite anyway.

Yes, I think Iowa State would have been in the thick of the Big 10 West title race this season. They are kind of cut from that cloth stylistically, at least since the departures of the NFL talent skill position players. I do think they have more offensive talent and skill than a lot of the current Big 10 West teams, which includes Iowa sans the QB, and two TEs got hurt. The similarity resides in coaching style IMO, with Campbell wanting to slow games down and put emphasis on the running game, even if it doesn't work all that well.

No way, man. Wisconsin, that juggernaut, would kick our ass.

In all honesty it would be an interesting matchup.

Neither team is particularly great at any one thing and have spurts of good and bad that have led them to where they are.

I'd take it over another MAC school or similar.

I want James Madison for bowl opponent.
