KSU came with in three of Missouri AT Missouri and should have won AT Texas and you say it would be a toss up game if Iowa played them? Truly delusional
Kansas and Okey state would find ways to score against Iowa's defense, while Iowa would have trouble scoring against their defenses.
Maybe Iowa would win one of those games -- maybe.
The two teams are about equal. Iowa State would have a similar record with Iowa’s schedule and vice versa.
I feel Iowa would be a game better at least than ISU with either schedule.
But let’s say they are even, how would that say that ISU had better depth than Iowa when they both dealt with similar problems and had according to you had equal results.
You still didn’t comprehend what I said. I said they have better depth at key positions… you know, like QB and RB.
And Iowa could just easily be 6-6 this year. 4 games won in the final 4 minutes. If all four go the other way, they’re 6-6, even with that horrendous schedule. Even if they split those four, they are 8-4. Since Iowa State was 7-5 with a far more difficult schedule, I don’t think Iowa would be a game better if they played ISU’s schedule. Case in point: look at the Vikings last year. They won a ton of games that could had easily been won by the other team. The record didn’t indicate their team strength
I agree that Iowa isn’t your typical 10-2 team and they took advantage of their schedule that they had zero control over. But I also feel because of their head to head win over ISU and ISU’s loss to OHio that they would have won at least 8 games if not more with ISU’s schedule.
Also, the NFL always has a lot of games that could go either way. The league is setup for parity.
So you want to ignore the 4 games Iowa won in the final moments of the game vs sub par teams? And you also want to use a game where many players had food poising? Ok… whatever makes you feel superior I guess

They are tired of losing to teams they are better than.
Yes. Just like the Vikings went 11-0 in one score games last year. They won those games. Clearly that means the team is very good, right? Remind me how the Vikings performed in the playoffs
Sorry to burst your bubble.. Iowa is quite fortunate to be 10-2. They are arguably the worst P5 team to win 10 games in 10+ years. After all, they have the worst offense in all of FBS, and by a wide margin.
But hey… tell yourself anything you want to make yourself feel good. Let me know when reality comes and bites Iowa.
Iowa fans know the reality. They will probably get their asses handed to them Saturday night by a great team and they are better than ISU this year.
And they should also recognize this team more closely resembles a 8 win team with their horrendous schedule than a 10 win team
They did, then turned the season around. The coaches made changes to help the team be better. They just didnt say there is not problem here we are going to do the same thing we have done the last 20 years
I think most fans know that they had a fortunate schedule and I’ve even admitted as much. What else do you want?
