Ezra Reiners from Iowa City West, son of former Iowa qb Randy Reiners, will be a preferred walk on at Iowa State next fall. Player of the year in the MVC conference last fall. Excellent player.

Fantastic family who has endured some terrible times (Randy's sister died during a softball game in the late 80's). His dad Gary was my high school basketball coach back in good old Fort Dodge, a tough coach but just an all around good man. Anyway, lots of athleticism in their gene pool...so I wouldn't be shocked if this kid grows into being a quality college football player.

Also curious as to what position he is slated for.
 
As an Iowa City West alum it is nice to see Iowa State get a pipeline going there. I had lunch last month with former teammate Carlos Honore who was a big recruit out of HS that ended up signing at Iowa. He said not signing with Iowa State was the biggest mistake he ever made.

I do not see anywhere in this thread above where you were talking about Ezra. Appears you were trying to make a joke bout my post that went over your head. Maybe TalkKidsTall is not that tall after all?

Back to the discussion. I will take any walk-on from the East side of the state. Hope he does well and earns a scholarship and a starting position. This would only encourage future kids from the East side to come on over to the good guys.

It would be better if he were a part of the Cyclone Nation rather than apart of it.

I know I'm nitpicking, but this is one error that means the opposite of what people intend, Raise and raze is another example of this, but people usually don't get them confused.

My favorite complete opposite-meaning-but-same-sounding word is resign (to quit) or re-sign (to continue with the current goal/team/etc)
