Expectations for 2018-2019

The youngsters are learning (gawd I hope so anyway) from the losses what it takes to consistently compete at this level. One of the keys is for the leaders to emerge and take control and make sure all the guys are doing the right things for their development. It's hard to replace senior leadership but hoping a few emerge and grab this thing by the throat!

I think I started to see leadership on the floor out of Wigginton yesterday. It is easier to assert leadership as a freshman when you're on the floor with two other freshmen and two bench players.

Stylistically is where my interest is, this year was the first year in what felt like a long time we didnt have an all over the court mismatch at PF (Lard is great but not a threat outside of the lane). Not sure going forward we can afford to play a dual big post set up for more than 10-15 minutes a game. Especially considering the two wing/posts freshmen we have coming in are perfect for the small ball PF system we've become accustomed to (Talley has really stepped up as well). We'll definitely be young to start the year but should be hitting all cylinders by conference.

I agree. I'd like to see Cam get 25 aggressive minutes at the 5, with Young for the other 15 (and 10 for him at the 4). That should keep fouls from being a problem and also give us a small ball look 75% of the time.

My only expectation is when they don’t click offensively per usual for people to say... yeah well wait till next year it will all comes together... omg hoiberg should of recruited 4 years ago!!!!

Add the Hoiberg cult that shows up complaining at every sign of adversity.

I think next year will be better than this year, obviously, but I think it mostly depends on who sticks around.

Prohm is now getting the chance to build "his" teams. Key to that is his recruits sticking around, so he can actually build a program and not having to fill holes every year with transfers. If he can do that, I think the future looks bright. He is going to need a couple of years of not losing players to build what he wants here. In this day and age of college sports, especially basketball, that is easier said than done.

My "If's" for next year include - If Wigs and Lard return.. If everyone has a healthy off season.. If we get constancy at the point guard spot..

All those come true and my expectations are to be 6 or better seed.

With that 6 seed or better, we could/would play in Des Moines. All aboard the hype train because then the dream scenario of a Sweet 16/Elite 8 in KC at the Sprint center.. Final 4 in Minneapolis comes true

Dream scenario. There'd be so many cyclones everywhere.

I’m trying to think of anyone that left that I wouldn’t really, really liked to stick around. Sure, we were short on bodies at certain points this year. It’s not like transfer outs have been an issue under Prohm, though.

Further, I’m wondering who from this year’s team might be eyeing an exit?

Nope, no reason to even go there.

The guy that I have noticed putting his arms around other guys and huddling the team up, the Naz way, is actually Talley. He was 100% that guy in Morgantown.

And yes, I was there live. Listened to Dan Carlin on the drive out/back.

Since Prohm came, we have had the following guys leave before graduating...

Jordan Ashton
Hallice Cooke
Brady Ernst
Nick Noskowiak
Simeon Carter
Ray Kasongo

I doubt we miss any of them.

There has not been a Wesley Johnson incident.

Thanks for the rundown - I was shooting from the hip. Nothing against any of those guys, but not exactly anyone that would’ve been a difference maker this year.

The important question--which Carlin episodes were you listening to on your drive?
