Most of the conference revenue comes from TV deals. Isn't that like a deck of cards? Doesn't the broadcast industry seem like it is bound to implode? The NCAA tournament was available in its entirety through a mobile app on my phone. It seems like huge changes are underway. Can't blame to conferences for taking the money and running, but it is hard to imagine that the broadcast money will be sustained to the end of these contracts with the rapid shift to other forms of delivery.
Yes. I think the method of delivery might look very different in 10 years and the Big 10 Network model will eventually be obsolete (i.e. getting paid for number of people in a state instead of actual subscribers)
