Yep. This is the main concern of mine in March. Second would be a team that is just really good from three as that is our kryptonite on that end if teams can pass out of the traps and pressure to shooters.

But the thing is that I don’t feel this team has to shoot well to be dominant. We have shooters, but when they aren’t falling or the opponents perimeter defense is good, we send the ball inside. And all the guards can finish at the rim as well.

I'm in the same boat just because of how a basketball season goes in general.

I feel comfortable with feeling like they can finish in the top 3 in conference though. They may drop a couple still but seem to really live by the 'not too high, too low' approach.

It works though. We slow down the offense a lit bit. We back off the pressure a little bit, and make them take time to get a good shot while we take time to get one for ourselves. That makes it hard to come all the way back.

As far as shooting is concerned... I think we were 2-11 from three in the first half? Even with that, we still took the 14 point lead into half.

Maybe it felt like we were playing perfect, but looking at the stats, I can't help but think that this team still hasn't technically played a truly complete game in Big 12 play. And despite that, they still have multiple wins over tournament teams with double digit leads for most of the second half.

Tech has come back from way down on a lot of teams, so the idea we would coast to the end was probably wishful thinking.

Looking ahead to March, I like seeing this team get challenged and have to fight off teams/close out games

Even though KU isn't their normal selves, they also beat them by 30 the other night.

They can play ball.

I don’t think today was the same as some of the leads. We definitely took the foot off the pedal. When Tech made a comeback, we kicked the offense back up to stay at an arms reach. I never really felt like Tech had a chance in the second half. And that hasn’t always been the case in some of these blown leads.

We have 2 players who can't shoot from deep. Ward and BRE. Every other player can both finish at the rim or pull up for a jumper. Watson hasn't shown it this year, but he can knock down jumpers.

Every single player can guard all over the floor. Sure Pav isn't going to guard a 7 footer in the post, but you get what I'm saying. Who is a liability on defense? No one.

Guys have strengths and weaknesses, but every player has a solid all-around game. That can't be said of many of our previous teams, even the great ones. That's what makes this team so special.

It's hard to go into a shooting slump with this team when you have 4 or 5 double figure scorers nearly every game. If a couple of people are off, there are a couple of others who can pick them up. Also, we score a ton in the paint, which also negates poor shooting nights to some extent.

Seems like some players are going through peaks and valleys. MM is the best 3pt shooter - has missed 6 3's in a row and had an air ball today. Gilbert was shooting only 30% from 3 and could not miss today. CuJo and BRE seem to be shooting better each game . Defense is good, but Ward is fouling too much. ISU will need him on Monday to fight for rebounds.

I think they’d adjust quickly. They’re not nearly as handset as the last two ISU squads.

I’ve not rewatched, but want to reexamine the BYU game as that seems like our only true beating. There may be a scouting Key.

Quick passes out of double teams to a really solid big that sees the floor and passes to lights out shooting.

At some point we might have a bad game, but at this point you just have to acknowledge this is a very good team - the best one Otz has put together yet.
